    hmmm
#1 they got Kirk out of his shirt for this scene

#2 doh, can't think of a single meme quote for this

#1: But I took MY shirt off. Why can't she... (spear points in Kirk's direction) Oh, never mind.

#2: Oh, NO! Not DAZ soon!!!

The standing joke about some of the later Trek movies that Kirk appeared in was that their most expensive special effect was William Shatner's toupee.

...supposedly a big rain and windstorm is heading our way this afternoon. Gusts of up to 60 - 65 mph expected in the city.

Candles and electric torches at the ready. Have Bread, Cheese, and Genoa Salami for sannies as well as beer if the power goes out.

    ...thanks

Good thing, most trees have lost all their leaves. Bad thing, we have lot of large conifers in the neighbourhood (like tall Douglas Firs and spruces). These do not have very deep root systems and the ground is fairly soft from all the rain we've been getting the past several weeks. Fortunately none are near the house.

At least I got all the flooding issues dealt with over the summer.

...egads, sun is out, calm before the storm I guess....about 3 more hours before it is supposed to hit.

That high of winds in teh city is greatly increased cause it going down the road in between buildings. It acts like a funnel.

...yeah there's a spot in downtown by the tallest building in the city where the wind is always bad even on what should be a calm day. Used to have to wait for a bus there. On actual windy days it was almost like standing behind a 707 with all engines at full thrust (save for the heat).

...how do I know this? When I was a kid I used to go down to E Layton Ave in Milwaukee (which ran long the north perimeter of the airport) to watch the planes land and take off. The road is only a few hundred from the end of the runway. Before planes took off they would sit at the end with throttles at full thrust before releasing the brakes.

This video below shows just how close that is.

Not quite as scary as Princess Juliana Airport in Saint Martin, but close.

The actress was Angelique Pettyjohn. She sold a ton of posters at Star Trek conventions. Almost as many as Jane Fonda from doing Barbarella...

Your job serves breakfast... what will you do? ;-)

ETA: yay for bigger bucks (hopefully!) \(^_^)/... do you have to memorise a new menu now too?

I have not memorized the current menu. Not sure if I will work more hours or not.

...here's the view from above to show just how close it is.

The red "X" is where we used to stand. The road itself has been widened since, used to be 4 lanes undivided with no sidewalk just a gravel shoulder and grass strip along the perimeter fence.

...for comparison, the end of runway 10 at Princess Juliana airport in St Martin (attached below). The beach is famous for pictures and videos of large planes like 747s, Airbus 340s and even the occasional Airbus 380 coming in so low one could almost reach up and touch them.

Unlike Princess Juliana Airport, Milwaukee rarely gets any of the big jets anymore so when the A-380 came to town (on it's way to the Oshkosh EAA airshow), it was quite an event. Same when the Concorde made an appearance many years ago and the big Russian Antonov-225 (the largest plane in the world, which has 6 engines) landed there to pick up some oversize equipment.

Planespotting" at Milwaukee today has actually become rather boring compared to the "old days" as the largest aircraft seen there now are 737s, MD 80s, and the occasional DC10-F for FedEx and 747-F for UPS (unless O'Hare get's shut down by bad weather and a bunch of international flights are forced to divert to Milwaukee to wait it out). The majority of flights in and out of MKE are on those small regional jets which I like to call "pregnant bizjets". Sad because they have one of the nicest terminals in the nation (originally designed to handle planes as big as the 747) which get's high marks by many travellers and travel magazines.

The other sad thing, it is now a major hub for "Cattle Car" Airlines (Southwest) ever since home grown Midwest Airlines went bankrupt and Delta bought out Northwest.

    LOL!

Somebody called my government phone saying that I am going to be sued and get waged garnished. What bothers me is that they used my government phone instead of my Virgin Mobile phone. I do not give out my government phone number. Why would they use that number instead of mailing me something or using the correct phone?

remember the episode, they were moving too fast to be seen? she had a kewl outfit, one side was all open.
