There are few things as happiness-making as hanging out on a bar patio, drinking a nice brew, and reveling in the Sun :red: :red:

As I get older, the things I thought were boring as hell have become comforting times :blank: :blank:

Getting old mostly sucks, but sometimes it's not so bad :red: :red:

BTW be glad you're in Tulsa and not Austin . Just picked this story up from the Milwaukee Journal.

Sounds like the guy had a grudge against police and court and a Mexican. Maybe an immigrant committed a crime against his family and the police and court system failed. (what's new?)

...bugger, got an email from Corel concerning a 50% off sale on PSP X7. Unfortunately, I have only have X4 and according to their Knowledge Base I need to have X5 or newer to qualify for for the upgrade. The full version is 10$ more I would consider it but there is no longer a boxed version available so I'd have to pay another 10$ for backup DVD. All of a sudden it doesn't seem to be a very good sale.

Would love to have the 64 bit version and the ability to use .abr brushes without having to convert them.

Business as usual here in Austin, everything calm. The 3-yr old and I went to the park for a couple of hours this afternoon. It was a beautiful, sunny day and Quail Creek Park had over 2 dozen people enjoying being outside. At least 18 kids were giving the playground a workout.

No one seems to know much about the shooter. The buildings have broken windows and some pock-marks, but are still standing intact. No bombs found. The event took about 15 minutes. The officer who may have killed him is on automatic suspension. Investigation is continuing.

Yes, from what little we saw on the news here (Alabama) it looks like someone with severe mental/psychological problems.. AGAIN! Just glad no-one else got hurt... and looks like authorities took appropriate responses (were careful and checked things, but didn't over-react either).

... the problem we (USA) *does* have - as opposed to all those people usually say - is that we ignore and denigrate the mentally ill rather than treating/helping them. It is a major blind spot we seem to have, even in normal stuff - I mean, no one would say to a burn victim, "Hey, have you tried just not being scarred?" (and if you did, even little old ladies with cats would beat the stuffings out of you), but I have had that very thing said to me about my severe depression. Of course that was better than what my *father* said, "You need to drink more whiskey and quit worrying so much" - it is not about worrying (I actually don't very much at all); its about I have a chemical imbalance that inhibits the production of a couple of neuro-transmitters (which might also be the source of my overly high pain tolerance - it is a lot lower [still very high] now that they have my meds correct and 'dialed in'). [/off soapbox]

ok, going to try and sleep again now... plus just typed too much... ONE paragraph - *ONE* and my shoulder starts... /hangs head

Another morning full of beautiful sunshine. I should work on cleaning the house today, but the yard is calling me. Why am I kidding myself? I'll sit right here playing with my goodies from the PC sale and trying out the Carrara beta while watching football.

I was served eggs and white bread for breakfast. Not a big fan of eggs. Yesterday I saw a box of cereal in my box so I went to get a bowl of cereal to make sure that I eat enough so I will not get low blood sugar at work. I said I would eat the eggs even though I did not like them but she took away my plate of eggs. I can eat scrambled eggs but do not like them. I will not eat hard boiled eggs. If I do not like something I do not eat it all. I do not like the way the house lady made oatmeal so I did not eat it all which caused low blood sugar problems at work. The lack of good food before work and lack of good sleep and not getting enough fluids caused me to crash an hour before end of my shift. I did my best but I was n bums. I ended up hearing both the order takers and the sandwich makers yell out the sandwiches and made twice of everything but the line was so long that we did use them all up as I was having difficulty keeping up.
I got yesterday a simple tea brewer at teavana which uses my Starbucks card and also two different teas. Last night I had the dream tea before going to bed and that helped. Today I went back and got two more teas, a chai and an oolong called s'mores.Yesterday I got a blueberry tea.

Good morning, Kulay. I'm happy to see that you made it through last night. I can't eat scrambled eggs when I first get up. After a couple of hours of yard work, maybe. Definitely for supper, with taco sauce on them. Teas are nice, but I gots to have my cawffeeee.

    Blech, complaint time!

It's absolutely beautiful outdoors, and I wanted to go to the Irish pub downtown, only to discover:

    - The closest bus stop is 3/4 of a mile form it
    - I have to transfer twice (total 3 buses)
    - The thought of having to navigate home after a few pints is worrisome
    - If I took a taxi, round trip would be close to $40 :ahhh:

There are other places I can go, but I suspect Mr. Homebody will have sushi delivered, then go to the Cimmaron and have a few beers out on their patio. I have a six pack of Spaten Optimator, which I will have some of tonight. I'll drop by the fancy liquor store on the way home Monday and load up on fancy imported beers for the game Monday night!

    Yummmmmmmmm sushi!

I worked thanksgiving from six pm to one something am. Insomnia wash it me badly when I needed to sleep as I worked yesterday starting at eleven to five. Glad I got that dream tea yesterday at teavana and that helped.

TroutFace, haven't you found a place with limo service up there yet? The Gulf of Mexico if a scary place. A manatee was found in Trinity Bay (near Bayport) the other day, rescued, and taken to SeaWorld. The underwater cameras on off-shore rigs seem to pick up new monsters every week. Cyclops shark, big blobs, anglefish...I'm not sure I want to go to Galveston's beach again.

Limo service is hard to come by up here, pretty much it's DIY or taxis. Meh, no big deal.

I've been seeing a lot of odd critters come out of the water down there.. I'd stay on the beach an just watch! :ahhh:
