Have you ever wondered how many potatoes it would take to power your house? There's a Website that will tell you! :ahhh:

Why is this even a thing? :blank:

I don't know. I think the results are less efficient than my current electricity plan. 145 potatoes for one hour? And what's that "+$48" all about? Something they want to sell me? Maybe the kit to connect all those potatoes to the electrical system? For one hour? My electric bill has never gone over, or even hit, $200 for the month. so we're talking more than a quarter of that...for one hour? :wow:

    No thanks!

So far, the gray sun is shining here. Someone else must have the yellow sun. Overcast, 50% chance of rain, high in the low 50s.

It's 47 F here right now! Tomorrow it is expected to be in the high 50s and might even hit or breach 60! I live in Massachusetts.

...far cry from last year. As I recall, it was a literal parade of snowstorms with almost no time to dig out.in between.

51° now but starting a downward progression to the 30s by the weekend, and of course, icy cold rain for the holiday. Would rather see it get cold enough to snow.as it's much less miserable than 38° and rain.

Actually, I've had enough of precipitation altogether. I'd like to give my sump pump a break. But tomorrow looks to be another monsoon event.

..wonderful. and of course Portland OR is the capital of Weird.

I prefer to use potatoes in the liquid and distilled form to power my imagination, much more cost effective. A fifth of Monopolowa or Viking Fjord goes for about 14 - 16$ here (12$ when on sale), lasts me a couple weeks, and is very tasty, (and I don't need to boil 6,192 potatoes per day as well as figure out what to do with them after the charge is spent as they most likely would no longer be edible).

Writing from my new laptop, a Dell Inspiron 15R. The laptop is purple, the mouse is purple and the laptop bag is purple. Squeee. Got a good deal on this one and I can pay over time. I've been wanting a laptop so I can do writing on the go. I think it's also able to do simple Daz artwork.

Since I have the next five days off, I'll be able to put this puppy through it's pace.

Yes, I'm installing Daz now - i'll spend the next couple of days getting some basic characters from my compy runtime over (ie, Samuel) and some clothes, scenes. I'm sure it won't be real robust as far as what compy can do but simple artwork should be possible.

Oh, I saw those. I looked at the promos and thought that they weren't that impressive. The one with the girl in the shower looked...odd. but that one looks pretty good.
+1 ... the girl in the shower looks more like a girl behind a very small bead curtain - droplets too regular imho o.o

ETA: nice playful render Misty (^_^)d.

Think it is best to light the droplet geometry separately so you can vary the specular properties a little by manoeuvring the light source to get variously shaped highlights :)

Pressure is dropping along with the temp and iz real gloomy nao for 6 o'clock in the afternoon....

...interesting as Oklahoma's excise tax is one quarter of what we pay here in Oregon in spite of having some of the strictest alcohol.laws in the nation. Seems someone there is making a nice living in the middle of the "booze chain".

Washington State used to have similar rules regarding the sale of "strong" beers (above 4.2% ABV) classifying them as "ales". You could still however purchase wine at a Supermart or corner grocery. The laws for selling beer above 4.2% were changed years ago allowing for the more potent craft brews to be sold in privately run retail outlets. Two years ago the state approved privatisation of liquor sales which allowed the sale of liquor in outlets like supermarts as well as privately owned an operated outlets. However there was a catch in that the state imposed additional taxes on the distributors and outlets (that are passed on to the customer) along with the profit margins for the outlets, which in turn actually caused the price to go up rather than down. The state has the highest excise tax in the nation on liquor, at 35.22$/gallon. Oregon is #2 with a rate of 22.57$ while Oklahoma is 25th at 5.56$. Oddly your nieghbour to the north, Kansas (which is a "dry state") taxes booze at rate of only 2.50$/gallon coming in 43rd while Texas to the south comes in at 45th (2.40$).
