Never made it out of the 20s today and winds were gusting to around 20mph. Just stayed inside wrapped up in a thick fuzzy blanket all day. Woke up with horible soe thot this moning. Looks like I'll be ringing (more kike sniffling, coughing, and sneezing) the New Year in at home this year. At least I have my potato Wodka though I still need my pickled herring. My hve to bundle up to go to the natural food mart down the street and pay a fortune for it there.

Warming up to 100 + over the next 24 hours. The Sydney fireworks should be good because they light uo the opear house on the harbour and of course the bridge over the harbour. The Melbourne fireworks are always a bit ho hum :)

In the late 70s I bought some stuff from Radio Shack. Together with a couple of friends, I made a little synthesizer. There was an IC we put on a circuit board and attached various resistors and capacitors. Pressing one end of a resistor onto a thicker wire made a certain sound. It wasn't complex, but it was kind of cool.

Hey great well done. I get so nervous switching the power on that the circuit doesn't get stored in brain so the difference between working and smoking gets forgotten: every time is like the first time  Think it is a temperament thing

No, they go across the bridge of your nose and have sticky on them to stick on the nostrils...they pull the nostrils open a little and help you breathe.

As the old year comes to a close and we prepare to bid it "adieu", we fittingly do the same with an old Complaint Thread and say "Howdy" to a new Complaint Thread and year.
So raise a cup of kindness and make a New Year's Wish (tonight or tomorrow night - check your local calendar) that 2015 will suck less than 2014 did.
    Salud!

I'm amazed anytime something I cobble together works.. I've only badboarded small project with an EEs help, right now I'm totally alone and have to rely on the Web, which has bailed my tailfin out many a time. :)

Having a celebratory beer now, Spaten Optimator.. off to watch Mythbusters.. a nice evening! :cheese:

...don't play around much with electronics anymore since everything has gone preprinted breadboard, to tiny to work on with my clumsy stiff fingers. Give me old fashioned analogue transistors (or better yet, tubes), resistors, capacitors, wire and soldier and yeah then I can have some fun.

My best "cobbling" these days is now in the Kitchen. Cooking up those burritos as I type. Beginning to smell real good The meat filling is simmering, whole black beans warming, almost ready to steam the tortillas. I get handmade brand for flour tortillas, a little more expensive, but not as thick and "bread like" as most of the "brand name" ones.

You get a soldier to help you with electronics projects? Army Corps of Engineers?
