Attached is a teen character who I've decided to call April. Her beaming smile is not just due to the fact that she's a G2 female wearing a Kids 4 texture (the blonde from Happy Kids), but because she's known the joy of a childhood where her eyebrows actually matched her hair :)

Thanks again, Slosh, and yes, thank you Daz :)

Let me join the chorus of thanks for this particular gift. There are some lovely K4 textures that i will be very glad to put back in circulation on G2.

And thanks for the hint of saving the loaded on Genesis skin as a material preset. Will make it easy to save them somewhere specific for converted textures and save having to dig through the Poser runtimes to find them.

Sorry for all the questions but I would love to do a Gen 2 child using these so that I may use them in Iclone.
Big Hugs to anyone who can help. TspiritFirst things first. You'll need to either load in K4 or Genesis. K4 recommended, since it has all the material zones, but Genesis will work fine too. Apply the texture you want to the model directly. If you're using Genesis, set the UV option in the surfaces to "Kids 4" to save you time later.

Once done, File -> Save As -> Materials Preset. Call it something memorable like "Kaelyn for Genesis" or whatever. You have now saved it as a DUF file which can be loaded directly onto G2M and G2F.

If you used K4, there's an extra step which should be made and that's to set the UV option in the surfaces for Genesis 2 to "Kids 4" as you would have done with Genesis. If you like, you can save this new preset over the old one to save time for future uses.
That's a great image of the kids at school. It look so real. I like the little boy in the background sizing himself up with the chart. That Super Dress looks good on kids, too.

Thanks. I haven't done many proper images in a while, so I thought it was time I started. I did a little research to get the right light colour for fluorescent lights. The only thing I was disappointed with was the lack of good shadows coming from the window to the left, despite my best efforts. Thank you so much. I did read what was on the sales page but I did not really understand it. ugh Sometimes my analytical mind complicates stuff. With your instructions I was able to use it. Yippee! I created a little video thanking Slosh and Daz. Will put a link to it, it is using the figure from Daz in Iclone. I am new to Iclone so it is not great, just a quickie. And had to decimate it sooooo much to get it to work. But it was fun. Hugs

Thank you very much for this great gift, slosh and DAZ! :)

I am happy to say that it is also a gift for Poser users since the UVs can be applied to the character in Poser without having to leave the program. It is thus perfect. ;)

Don't celebrate just yet, your next kid-friendly outfit is going to want morphs for that toddler now. As well as the kindergartner too! :)

The autofit is another goodie I'd love to get my hands on. Again, I do have an autofit for K4 which works for most shirts, leggings and a few shoes, but it's a very rough job and it's always nice to have a professional polish to these things. My problem is there is literally zero documentation on clone figures, so everything I know about them is self-taught from playing around. Presumably there's a science to it, but my squishy brain can't fathom it out from tinkering alone.

So, another item to add to my basket when it comes out. I think I own at least half Slosh's store by now!

Have you seen Kattey's tutorial on making a clone? http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/24093/P30/#357032

There is another entire step to making autofit clones that Kattey does not describe, she may not even know about it. You must create another clone and save it as a clone asset. This is the actual autofit clone, not the hidden clone mentioned. This clone is usually the source figure (K4 in this discussion) which has been stretched, posed, etc. to match G2F, whereas the clone Kattey mentions is G2F stretched and posed to match K4. The autofit clone I mention is saved as a .dsj and is in your data folder but is not accessible in DAZ Studio. It is truly the "hidden clone". It may also explain why HeraldOfFire never quite gets the results he hopes for.

As for shoes, I have yet another product idea on my project board at home. This, if it works, will make any Generation 4 or Genesis shoes fit exactly like they should. The problem is, I don't have many problem shoes to test it on, lol. In most cases, shoes I've tried to autofit come out acceptable to me. I wish I had a list of shoes that don't transfer well so I can use them while designing the shoe product.

Hopefully that wasn't a Top Secret nugget of information, though I can't imagine how easy it would be to try and reshape K4 to match G2F. The answer is probably "Not very", so I'll leave it in your capable hands. After all, the autofit rigging may work for K4 -> Genesis, but there's no equivalent going backwards.

On the upside, it means I can experiment trying to get a Sadie/Sam clone figure working on G2F, just for the laughs.

Thank you. Not sure I will find use for this, but it expands my options, which is a very good thing.

I'm happy this is being received so well. It brought a smile to my face reading your comments. Don't forget to thank DAZ as well for letting me give away the UVs for free. I'm working on an Autofit for the clothing, but the shoes are giving me problems (as usual). I don't think the autofit will be free, but once I'm finished, I will likely bundle the autofit with the UVs and do some more realistic head morphs and a kindergartener and toddler. The price for that will be reasonable, I promise.

    Awesome! :cheese:

Thank you for the awesome product Slosh, it made my day when I seen it, a slight beg for your next autofit project or even a seperate product, if it's possible, could you do a baby morph pretty please, lol, maybe like a newborn type baby? I'm not sure how possible it is because of size and various size differences, again thank you for the set. :)

Many thanks for the nice pressie — I've been playing around with the textures from the K4 Pro bundle that I hadn't got round to reinstalling for a while, and they all convert and load nicely. I'd forgotten there were so many face paint options.

Just one hiccup, the custom full-body morph was a bit tricky to find, and there are eye close morphs in the installer that I just can't find anywhere on G2F/G2M. I'm looking all over the Parameters tab, and I can't see anything obvious.

Have you checked Pose Controls with the head selected? Thats where the eye close morphs are for Genesis 1.

Yes, but G2 also gives access to the Pose Controls head dials with the full body selected — AFAIK it's the same selection. But all I see are the normal eye close dials, even switching to "show hidden" doesn't pop up anything different.

    Excellent renders, everyone!

Taking the set for a test drive...

The boy is Slosh's boy morph mixed with Growing Up. His skin is Jackie for K4 by Mec4D. The girl is Slosh's girl morph mixed with Belle. Her skin is one of the options from Children of the World by Virtual_World.

I'm not sure why the full body morphs were tricky to find... they should be under Actor/People/Real World. As for the eye closed morphs... they are not meant to be found. They are helper morphs when you use the G2F or G2M EyesClosed sliders because most head morphs don't close the eyes completely. Just use the normal EyesClosed morphs under Pose Controls/Head and the custom eye morphs work automatically

Very nice, Scott! I would like to point out that any of the adult heads can be mixed in with the child morphs to get customized heads. In fact, in my promos, the last image is K4 Jade texture applied to the boy and girl, and I added David 5 head from my Legacy Shapes to the boy and Stephanie 5 head from Legacy Shapes to the girl.

Was inspired to try the Gentleman's Wardrobe on a little guy with K4 textures.....I used ZEVo's youth morph cuz I wanted really little. My render isn't great but still......too cute!

    Thanks again Slosh!

...late to the party, just saw this the thread and thank you very very much.

Can't wait for the autofit clone. I tried following the tutorials but kept running into a roadblock s if I was missing a step or two (or just not understanding the process) .

That's where I eventually came across them, but all the other "character" morphs are also in Actor>Full Body>People>Real World — which is where I usually look for these morphs. It's a bit confusing having more than one valid place to put things; could this be a holdover from before DAZ settled on standard parameter settings and morph dial locations?

As for the eye morphs, I see what you mean now — I wasn't thinking of them as "invisible" helper morphs.

The way we are instructed to set up the character morphs is this: Anything that includes the head and body in on dial/slider is under Actor/People/etc. Anything that is just the body, no head, goes under Actor/Full Body/etc. These are things like the Genesis 2 Body Morphs, Zev's Growing Up, Michael 6 Swole, etc. Full body character dials are just control sliders that dial in the head and body morphs at the same time. Since the child morphs I made do not have a separate head, they are under Actor/People. When I eventually do some more head morphs, these morphs will be added on top of the current child heads.
