Now that's some unexpected twist. I definitely didn't see this coming. Actually, I had my hopes high for Hiro 6 this month, but we got this creature instead.

I must say I'm tempted to purchase him, but before that i want to estimate if he is versatile enough. So anyone who got him please post your impressions and renders.

I love the minotaurs. I must get them all, at least the morphs…

Actually, I did not believe my eyes when I saw the shop filled with Bloodrage goodness. I thought it is too targeted a theme for DAZ to release it as a major shape*, but I'm DELIGHTED. So show off your Krunch and Ray'd Bool renders!

*I won't be surprised to see a swarm of minotaur pinups getting released after this glorious day of bovine bonanza though.

The minotaur looks good. Can the morph(s) be edited in Blender without access to the HD toolset? I don't have any HD morphs yet.

Also what does it look like with lower subdivision values?

He looks awesome! I noticed he's HD only - what's the render time (average) that everyone is experiencing?

I was told SD was included by someone who got minotaur. haven't tested myself though.

I'm afraid, I don't have much use for minotaur as is, although he looks great.

I guess you could say my minotaur needs are fairly low. =-)

I was under the impression that HD only "activates" when you increase the SubDivision Level.

If you dial up an HD morph (or have one activated), and your viewport sub-D level is at 1 (default), it will still automatically render the HD morph at whatever level it was saved in if the dial is on. Most are saved at level 3. So, you can leave you sub-D level as is, but the HD morph won't really show in viewport, but only once rendered. In Poser it works different. What ever sub-D level you set viewport at, that is the level it will render. If you wish to see the HD morph in Daz before rendering occurs, then you have to manually set the sub-D level to 3, but that slows down the viewport, hense why it auto renders while still at one, so your viewport doesn't suffer.

Atticus, loved your image. :D That's the one that kinda has me wanting the Minotaur. Was your render time long?

After seeing this, my poor head is full of nonsense, but utterly hilarious quotes like "give the old cow some love" etc. You have a bad influence on me, guys.

Man, DAZ and their minions have been releasing some really awesome products these past weeks. I'm almost sorry I've cut out a good bit of my purchasing over the last couple of years but honestly, I need it for food and shelter so I just drool on the side lines. lol I love the Minotaurs skins and goodies (not genitals). I did put both bundles in the cart just in case I have a little money to get him.

I think having the flu is a good thing now, so I've been nibbling on food.. and buying content.

DAZ sure has been busy; I came back from a three week 'vacation' in the hospital to find I've missed a lot. I can't afford to buy all the Minotaur 6 stuff (I'd sure like to, though) but I'm picking up the main bundle, Tauran III, and Swole for the Minotaur. The latter should be really useful even if we don't get an official Freak 6.

Seeing this new beastie in the store got me thinking that a Troll 6 would be nice. And maybe some Generation 6 Monstrosities. I think there's a lot of possibilities with the HD technology on monsters.

If you tempt me to confess to something... I need a crew of Maru henchmen. Badly. DarioFish knows that, but he has to whip out some new aliens before tackling something like this.

Oh, I completely forgot. Does Swole for Minotaur work on it's own or does one NEED the minotaur to make it work correctly? I think this is the best Swole so far and it's too bad if it needs the Minotaur shape to work. From the Swole vid at the bottom of the product page he looks like a seriously serious bodybuilder! Congrats to Simon for an awesome looking product!

It uses the Minotaur body FBM (which is quite nice, Fuseling and I have sets coming up that build on it as well). It's separate from the head so many humanoid heroes are possible.

I haven't finished my order yet, but from the product description, it sounds like it builds on the minotaur form as a base. If that's the case, I hope it won't be a problem to use other G2M head and facial morphs to create a variety of big, burly men.

Love the look of the Minotaur, well done DAZ! Caught me totally by surprise too, which was fun. Haven't decided yet what combination of products to get, but I just wanted to say that I love that the premier bundle is a separate thing rather than a pro bundle/starter bundle situation. Really nice stuff all around!

Hoping someone from DAZ will come along. Since punch items can't be returned, I can't just try this guy in Carrara.
    1. How does he look without HD?
    2. Are the horns geografting?
    3. Is geograft ever going to work in Carrara?

Thanks for the info folks. I'll get Swole too then. I'll look forward to the new shapes you and Fuseling have in the pipe line. I like your packs, always very versatile.

Unlike me, who has been waiting impatiently for this level of attention paid to this character. Happy happy! Joy joy! I see now why the cow head morph was left out of the Genesis2 character morphs package. I had many angry thoughts about that but somehow suppressed most of them. This makes moving up to Studio4 and Genesis2 worth my time and money.

My denizens of "Taurhaven" will appreciate this major infusion of DNA evolution.

Yep, he can afford to lose the liver, stomach, intestines, kidneys, and spleen, but make sure those jewels are protected! 8-O
