Hello Virtual worlds

Hello I was wondering I have been exploring virtual world sites lately an old friend of mine gave me an old server of his. I was thinking of trying to create a 3d virtual myself using daz as the main platform. Creating it on the old server I got, I was wondering if this idea was ever brought to this forum before? It would be a project always in the making and of course I would be learning as I go. Just wondering what people would think of this? Most of the virtual worlds you see are based on the sim platform where most of them look 2D. But I would like to try to create a 3D virtual world.

Thanks For Your Time

Unless your sim is made up of renders, this would be in violation of the EULA.
You cannot place any of the 3d assets here online....or in any format where they can be extracted.

What do you mean by the DAZ platform. DAZ Studio is a program for rendering 3D images, and uses 3D mesh objects to do this.

Just using the grid it self where I can build my own models like buildings or landscaping's and placing them on the grid. Where people or 3d avatars can then walk around and explore or interact with other 3D avatars kind of like a online game system where people can talk to one another. But in a 3D world. But using the daz grid format as a base system. Its about the best way I can explain myself . But this would be loaded on my own server not on any body else's system. Not on daz or any body's system just my own .

I think you will have to take a closer look at what DAZ Studio actually is and how it works.
You seem to think it is something that it isn't.

You need a modeling program to make the items you want in your world. This can be very basic and obtained for free, or it can cost multiple thousands of dollars.

Then you need some kind of engine to run your world. Probably a game engine.

    DS does neither of these.

Try Unity, that will do what you want. And Poser Pro Game Dev comes with TONs of content that's legal to use with it for a very reasonable price compared to almost any other options.

Sounds like you're talking about something like Second Life, or the Sims and that can't be done with DAZ Studio. However, since you have your own server, you might want to look into OpenLife. It's like Second Life, but if I remember correctly, you can host your own servers and attach them to the main grid. It's been a long time since I looked into it, but I know virtual worlds like the one you are thinking of exist. But it's not what DAZ Studio does.

Edited to add: You still can't use DAZ assets in whichever grid you use, you can however, import any renders you make as pictures in your world.
    Edited again for clairty
