Hi,

Anybody know if a 3D supermarket is out there? I found some smaller (themed) shops, but no complete supermarket or general store.

If any exist, I'd love to find out about them.

Thanks a lot,

Me

Did you want an exterior or interior?

    They're not cheap BUT:

    TurboSquid has an exterior:

And CGAxis has a couple of bundles of interior furnishings

    Some free shelves at CGTrader:

    Interiors are a priority.

Exterior would be nice too :)

I think it's a bit strange no such commercial set exists...

I too have lamented the lack of digital grocery stores. When I needed one for a render, I decided to create sets of only those corners of the store that I was going to use. Here's what I did:

I kitbashed some aisles of food, as well as the freezer aisle, from Aemi1970's Aemi Shop, a freebie on ShareCG: http://www.sharecg.com/v/33439/browse/11/Poser/Aemis-Shop .

I downloaded some shopping carts from jambioo on TurboSquid [http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/shopping-cart-max-free/684366].

I used Valandar's Quick Check Lane [http://www.daz3d.com/quick-check-lane] for the self-checkouts.

The Old West Mercantile Interior [http://www.daz3d.com/old-west-mercantile-interior] shelves served as a specialty food area.

I used some small display tables from the Mercantile Interior to create endcap displays of wines, plants, candy and other impulse items.

That made enough of a self-checkout area to satisfy me.

If you think of a supermarket as containing different modules, like regular checkouts, self checkouts, bakery, deli, pharmacy, frozen foods, dry goods, etc., you may be able to repurpose items to create several sets showing different areas of the store.

Hmmmm...now I'm going to see if I can find a deli or bakery...

Be aware that Aemi1970 stuff tends to require editing paths in the PP file -- some of it is that locations of things have changed since they were put up, and some of it is that they're packed a bit oddly.

Hmmmm...now I'm going to see if I can find a deli or bakery...

Richabri put his bakery up at ShareCG and in Renderosity free stuff. Very useful when all you need is front-of-house.

What about a corner store. The corner stone in any city block.

I have a set of glass display cases which you may find useful. Also, my groceries pack could come in handy.

I've often thought about doing a store or supermarket, and I can tell you what the major problem is - stocking the shelves. To make it believable requires hundreds, if not thousands of props - canned goods or whatever. I'm always daunted by that one factor. The final product size would be huge.

Btw, First Bastion has just released a shopping mall here in the DAZ store. It should be in new releases.

    Hi again,
I've seen the mall by First Bastion, which is what sparked my search for a real supermarket. The mall looks great, but it focuesses on the space in between the individual stores and not the actual shopping area where all the products are.
If any one finds a supermarket, please post it here.

    Thanks a lot!

    I found this.

It is just the building though with nothing on the shelves.

vwrangler -- thanks for the tip. This bakery looks great for a generic front-of-house bakery area for a grocery store!

maclean -- I see your point. The amount of time you'd sink into individualizing all those items would not give you the return you're looking for! Your Everyday Groceries are intriguing me, however...

Has anyone seen any freebie commercial shelving or racks? I'm on the verge of making my own aisle of groceries and stocking it with node instances of food freebies, assuming I can get some shelves...

EDIT: Yes, I see that Charlie Judge linked above to some free shelves, but I'd like just simple vertical units that I can make an aisle of.

    Check out 3dbar.net.
They have a lot of store shelves with stuff on them. It's all free, most of it is in 3ds. format, and you may have to tweak the mat zones.
Only problem is there are no readme files saying who made the props. So best not use for commercial projects.

The items have a distrubingly "Turbosquid-ish" quality, presentation and application support. I would be extremely wary of using such high quality "free items".
