ZBrush to DAZ inquiry

Hello,

Has anyone ever used ZBrush to make clothing for DAZ figures? I have been learning ZBrush and finding a problem trying to use the transfer utility tool in DAZ. I am using DAZ 4.6 ZBrush 4R6. It transfers using GoZ from one to another fine. When I use the transfer utility on my G2M figure for a set of clothing I created it distorts the clothing I made? I have watched a few tutorials and they make it look easy. Am I possibly missing a step? Any help would be great! Thanks

Ghost

Distortion on fitting to a zeroed figure usually indicates you modelled around a non-zero figure (one with a pose or shape applied). If the problem doesn't show until you pose the figure it may indicate that you need to adjust the mesh density or flow, or edit the weight maps. I think Mec4D uses ZBrush for clothes creation, other PAs may too.

Yes, that's what it was. I know now to create clothing with the figure at zero base and resolution set at low subdivision. However, When I add a morph, like Massive the resolution to the pants I made comes out choppy. In DAZ I turned the resolution to high and raised the level to subdivision 2. Still kind of choppy looking in the preview window. Anyway I can adjust this? Do I make this adjustment in ZBrush first or in DAZ after I add the morph?

    Thanks

Here is a snap shot of my work in progress...

Would like help how to better the resolution on the pants.

In ZBrush I had set the UV Map size resolution to 512. I am wondering if it should be higher or lower? I used a leather shader preset from ShareCG.

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

How did you create these pants? What methods did you use in ZBrush? They look very much like the underlying mesh in that you can see the musculature. You shouldn't be using the mesh from the body to recreate clothing. The UV size would have bearing on your textures, not how your mesh looks. You mesh looks unsmooth from what you're showing. I'll wait for you to explain what you actually did.

Hi Cris... thanks for responding back.

I didn't do much to it. All I did was a mask, mesh extraction in ZBrush. Then changed the UV resolution to 512. I had watched a tutorial that suggested to choose a lower res.

Then I used the GoZ plugin to export it to DAZ 4.6
Then I used the transfer utility tool.

Before I added a morph, it fit onto the figure smoothly and it didn't look choppy at all. I did a test before I added the morph. It had looked great with a leather shader applied to it. When I add the morph "MASSIVE" for Genesis 2. That's when it gets choppy looking. I'm just thinking it must have something to do with a resolution adjustment?

    Thanks for your help.
