Daz models imported to 3DS Max

Hey - I've been bouncing around lately trying to improve the render quality of my characters - has anyone imported fbx's of their models into 3DS Max? I'm using Max 2011 and having trouble with the eyes rendering dark circles which I believe are related to eyelash transparency issues.
I'm just curious, not really sure 3DS Max's mental ray does a better job overall with my character renders. They still look like cartoons even with the latest skin plugins I've found. Love Max's texture shaders in mental ray though for glass and other such items.
Thanks!
Don

Need to realize that most here, hobbyists mostly don't have access to high end apps such as 3DSMax and mental ray which is $795 stand alone, unless you are a student. As such having plug and play workflows for DAZ content to max isn't that big of a priority and I doubt you'll find many users trying this route with DS content.
Mental ray is a high end unbiased renderer, so yeah, with correct surface material setups, your renders will be much better/more realistic than what you get with DS default.
Whenever i use maxwell, I just export as obj from DS and then into Max, but having to redo all the textures/shaders is a huge pain..
In your posted image, it looks like your ambient/specular is way to high.
Thanx, Michael. I used to use Max 2005 and have been relearning it but takes a lot of time and the shaders are a pain to figure out. I will give the OBJ's a try. Weird on the pic I posted. It comes into Photoshop and AE fine but on the image preview alone that ambient shows a lot. It's supposed to be a 'cheap' version of going around Final Gatherer in mental ray to speed up rendering so I thought I'd test it out.
