Exported bend quality looks "ugly"

Hello,

I`ve some problems with the quality of the exproted bends like e.g. for the elbows because they don`t look good in other 3d tools. I´ve tried the FBX and OBJ format for the export but both looks the same.

Since I couldn`t find any useful information until now I will be happy if anybody can explain me how I can get better export results.

Thank`s in advance

What figure are you trying to export, and what application are you trying to use it in? OBJ format does not include the rigging, and FBX results may vary depending on whether the application you're using can make use of the translated rigging.

The figure is genesis 2 base and the 3d tool is 3ds max.

Since I`m very new in DAZ I would like to ask you if I can optimize the settings for better export result anywhere in DAZ or what are the best settings for an export?

In all tutorials I´ve found only a figure in the standard t pose was exported and since there are no bends there`s no problem :-).

Since the rigging is not a must I tried OBJ and the results are better but also not very well.

In the meantime I`ve tried COLLADA too but the results are also not good. Do you know an other export plugin with which it could work better?

OBJ should be pixel perfect tbh. But FBX will have trouble of course cause it is exporting the bones and skin, however the skin will not be weighted like it is in DS, but instead with some average values within the other application. If you want to export a poseable figure from DS to max you will have to do your own weighting in Max and of course also create JCMs to fix problematic areas where weights just wont cut it.

The only way to get a perfect result is using OBJ, and no matter what you think right now, dont be fooled, it will be pixel perfect from the positions of each vertex in your DS viewport, when using the right scales. I have been using a combination of DS and C4D for years now and the workflow using OBJ exports is the one that always works flawless and you can import and export back and forth between the two without any differences in positions etc if you work in centimeter scale in both applications.

I`ve played a little bit with the OBJ export settings and it works perfect now. Thank`s also for the info of the alembic exporter. Maybe I will have a look at this exporter.
