Help with glow effect

Anyone know the best way to get an glow effect. Something like this

The simplest way is just to overdrive the ambient channel, in this example the bright patches are set to 9000%.
Simple to do for glowing spots, I don't think it would work for that suit, unless it was post-processed in (using Photoshop/Gimp/other after the render).
How did you get the spheres to light up the surrounding like that?
Its the UberEnvironment that provides the light transport mechanism.

OK, so with UE2 going, it dose look at the ambient part of a surface as it is doing it's ray-bounce thingy. The Ambient just needs to be cranked up to an insanely high value, like 9000, to do that.
I have got to give that a try now. :coolsmile:
Is that an UberEnvironment shader ? If so which one . I only have the basic lights .

It takes a bit to get use to using it, tho it is very much worth it. That first post is links to other posts in that thread.
