A wild ride, indeed: "Fantasy Riders" promo trouble.

So, I get up this morning in time to see that there's a new promo involving various beasties, and I congratulate myself on not buying the assorted Alessandro fauna that I put on my cart yesterday. After various chores, I happily discover that not only the animals I picked are on sale with an additional discount, but many more are also open game (bad one, I know) and I pass a good deal of time this afternoon selecting and combing through the categories on sale, ready to make my first big expenditure of this year... only to see that, at check-out time, the discount has vanished. Well, infuriating, but nothing out of the ordinary. Not till I see that the page for the sale still has the raccoon and many others listed as part of the promo. And then I get angry.

It's one thing to know the store glitched and offered an unintended discount, I can accept missing out on those with only a bit of disgruntlement and self-conscious self-entitlement; but to spend hours hunting through a massive back catalog that Daz claimed was on sale, only to discover that just a tiny bit of it actually is, and to still see some of those animals advertised as if on sale... Well, if it was Monday, I would say this ruined my week. Thankfully, it is Friday and I am quite sure that by Sunday I will be mostly over the drama.

Still... That tempting raccoon, with his mischievous, beady eyes... That's a low blow, Daz. A low blow.

P.S.: Any reason I am unable to change my username? This one is email gibberish, and a tad embarrassing.

To answer your PS Send a PM to Richard Haseltine, giving him the username you would prefer to use (with a couple of variants in case the first is already in use) and also the email address you use to log on with.

Thanks, Chohole, that's one matter solved. I guess it's official that the products on http://www.daz3d.com/fantasy-riders are not at all part of the sale, then?

It looks like some products were included by mistake -- it says "DAZ Original Animals", but the AM products are not DAZ Originals. If you click on the "Browse All" button it shows the correct items, but the fix hasn't filtered through to the cached promo page itself.

Show us your cart's screenshot please. New releases won't drop to 50%, remember. 30% off those new releases listed, then anything without the "New" tag within the categories 50% off. The offer works for me, the shark by Alessandro_AM, which is a DO too, dropped.

I'm very upset. I read the promo email then clicked the link and saw that if I buy one of the new releases (I really want those new G2 Horse Poses) then I could also buy one of the products below for 50% off. I really would love to buy the Easy Environments: Autumn which is shown on the Fantasy Riders promo page. See my screenshots below. The second product was not 50% off when I added it to my cart. Why show it if it isn't included in the sale? I was already coming up with ideas for that Autumn set. :(

Thanks for being so helpful, everyone. Unfortunately, I didn't take any screenshots of the whole process, but, to sum it up, when you followed the link to the promo, a lot of products that weren't daz originals showed up AND were discounted. I didn't realize at the time it was a glitch, and went exploring to see what could I use to beef up my runtime. Of course, by the time I was done, the discount no longer applied to the items it shouldn't apply to, but my last point of contemption was that the promo page still showed those items as being part of it (to name a few: http://www.daz3d.com/real-fur-for-big-cats-2, http://www.daz3d.com/raccoon-by-am and http://www.daz3d.com/white-tiger-for-daz-big-cat-2).

Of course, I now realize that two stacking sales of such products wasn't (nor would it be likely to be) intentional and that the email clearly stated that the discounted categories were Daz originals, so... Got worked up over nothing. It's just that that promo was taunting me (well, that and no longer being able to afford my own private zoo).

Edit: Most of this overly verbose explanation can be seen on the screenshots above.
