Dreamlight's Starbase not loading etc.......

I contacted them about three months ago to no avail. My Studio sees and lists the Starbase which seems to have installed fine. Yet trying to Load it into Studio the dialogs come up saying this and that file cannot be found (but it's all there in My Library). So it loads only a few small items... The same thing happens with all the free models they give out to members. Nothing loads correctly or fully. Just one of the reasons I try to avoid Studio (or maybe it's his products this time).

I've been wanting at least one themed/clothed character. Yet due to the complexity involved with getting Studio to load anything I cringe at the thought of attempting this..... Maybe we could do this in steps. I've got Vic 4.2 which loads.
First thing I need back is the Power Pose tool. This was a free plugin at one time. There's "activepose" under tools which seems to be similar so maybe we're set there.
I would like to tweak this into something Hot .... Is this version even worth working with in light of the more recent frills which are geared for latter versions? By Genesis they mean an entirely new (code) line of characters?
Seems like this is a maze of incompatibility.

Alternatively, I was looking for a free version of Mike and no longer see the offer. I had Mike 4 and made a cool black metal mask and ended up losing both. I just need one clothed character. Up to now I've simply painted the body black but for the head. Black "jumpsuit" doh. This has actually sufficed.
To close, I'll simply ask whether it's possible to download - from say some specific vendor - a fully rigged character ready to go? Like a sci fi or wizard like Mike? Or one of those super hot looking female models (which all seem to be based on some prior standard model).

Hey, just wanted to share... I recently got a camcorder up and running. To my surprise I'm using it for something quite different than expected. The viewer picks up stuff hard to see with the naked eye. I've seen one ghost like thing already. But on a more regular basis, incredibly, I see what I think have been dubbed as bioplasmic life. They suddenly appear, fly around for about a half second then vanish. Thought they might be some kind of indoor bug but nay. I tested this by narrowing the field AND Thinking/feeling in a certain way... and they show. So they are responding to my vibes. I'm almost sure that they're this plasmic life in which Susan J Rennison et al has done
research. They seem to respond to positive vibes more....
Try it yourself!!! Turn off the lights in your room but turn On the light on the cam... and wait. But while you're waiting, go through all the emotions, sensations that you associate with wonder, goodness, enthusiasm, love etc. If you see nothing, ever... then this might mean my room here is haunted, a portal or maybe all those magic books on the shelf are worth something after all etc! I've put out the call however so maybe that has something to do with it.

Daz studio 4 needs genesis and genesis2 starter essentials, they can wear a lot of the older figures clothes through a cool technology called autofit and use Mike and Vicky 4's skins well genesis can out the box!
If you bought M4 he should still be in your product library to redownload.
Read some of the DAZ discussion stickies on the new DAZ studio and genesiz etc.
Thanks - but what I'm seeing is really there. You can see them on playback tho it doesn't look like much. Why and what are the issues.
Power Pose comes free with Daz Studio ( see attached screen shot ) . Just as wendy♥catz mentioned,, if you install the starter packs that come free you get a few characters to get you going. You even get Victoria 6 free :) The DIM ( Daz Install Manager ) should have installed all these things for you. If you could post a screen shot of the errors you are getting with your starbase scene it would make it a bit easier to figure out whats not working.

It just says it can't find certain files. I'll let this go and see what we can with the genesis stuff. I'll have to admit that the line about shrooms pissed me off. And as a matter of fact, clinical studies done on mushroom use, along with therapy, was found to be one of the most effective methods for long term recovery. I haven't done any in ages but feel everyone should try them at least once. They aren't banned because they are toxic or dangerous. Which would you prefer, a few caps from nature or a flu vaccine laced with mercury, aluminum and formaldehyde? This stuff is not only legal but pushed.
The free model giveaway is long over. Both the V3/M3/A3 base and H3 that was available from Cnet and the larger "...all the base models are free forever..." promo. Both ended before DS4 was released.
If you download DS4, you get the Genesis Starter Essentials and the G2 Starter Essentials. This gives you both the Genesis base model and the G2F and G2M base models, along with a load of content to get you started. Including textures, hair and clothing.
The difference between Genesis and G2? The Genesis base can go from andro to male to female to child to monsters (is you have the morph sets). G2 returned to gender split. You have a G2Female base and G2Male base.
As for Dreamlight's Starbase not loading, that isn't anything new. That model actually dates back to DS2. Back in those days, the content folder for DS was in the main app folder rather than an external folder. The paths also tend to be absolute so the first time you load, the app searches the paths, can't find them so it asks. Simply find the things it's asking for and click ok. After it's all loaded, resave the prop to DS library. That should correct things.
Which files does the Starbase say are missing? Probably items in the \Data folder, in whichc ase is the Data folder in the root of a content directory (not nested in a sub-folder, such as a folder named "Content" from the zip).
All the missing files are bmp files. It's like it can't look into sub folders or something. I've Cloisters with it's templates and it all loads fine.
But I updated the download manager - there is quite a large list of items. I will attempt this. I got Studio 4.6, which did Not have any genesis files.
So, should I just forget about version 4 characters?
There is Starter Essentials and S.E. for male And female. I'll assume all three packs are needed and will download into my daz library.
What does a power loader do?

I appreciate the help I've received these past several weeks. I'm not into this like others here but would be if I had the time. I give more time to Fruityloops (and the endless hoops to jump through), which is that premier digital music work station. Fyi, this program taxes the senses unlike other programs... After a couple hours you are fried. And if you do this for a few days on end this (eye etc) fatigue is accumulative. Something about the ever moving time line or scrubber and placing notes manually. Ya gotta love it. Then you bring the compositions into say CoolEdit or Audition (same thing now) for those final touches and effects and further multi-track mixing. Then into Corel to mix the music with whatever animation clips....
Ah, if bmp files are listed as missing are there jpgs with the same name in the folder it is looking it? DS won't load a jpg if bmp is specified. That would be a bug if so, though you can use the Locate button to select the jpg in place of the bmp and then save the result (as a Materials preset or a scene subset depending on whether it's an item or a setting) and use that in future.
Genesis Starter Essentials is Genesis one, the male and female packs are Genesis 2. There should also be a Default Lights and Shaders.
PowerLoader is a tool that lets you choose which morphs load with a fourth generation figure, so that you don't have to have everything. There isn't an equivalent for the later figures, which is a shame in some ways.
PostgreSQL is a database - it is used for the Content Management System (Smart Content, Products and Categories as well as some other features relating to content type).
