What files are needed from downloaded content items.

There are many different file extensions on various content items. filename.cf, filename.duf,filename.cr3,filename.ps....etc.

The programs I use Daz3d studio, Carrara 8.5 pro, Bryce and Hexzagon.

The Daz Installer looks like the way to go.

My Daz files are scattered in many places on my computer... C:\ E: H:\ I have not used the DIM up to now, only manual installs.

Currently, I have found 3 folders/subfolders on the three above mentioned HDD with daz files in them.

Currently, I do not own any Poser application. It appears to me, that poser files are used with Daz3d applications and should be installed as well. It may be that I will need to acquire poser sooner than I think. Should I configure for poser files in the DIM.
Where can I find information for using DIM for downloads, installs and managing files for Carrara, Bryce and Hexagon.

I was thinking to just copy/paste from all the MyDaz3d Library\files into one location. Then I could change the content location in Daz3d Studio and the DIM.

All the files I have downloaded appear to still be on the Daz servers. Maybe, best to just uninstall all the applications, delete all the relevant folders, clean the registry and start over.

I really need to clean up the messes, so any suggestions, information or links will be helpful.

I would use DIM if I were you.

There is a filter on the Ready to Download tab, which allows you to see the various versions of content that you require. If you do not want Poser content for now, you can make sure that the box for Poser is not checked, it will not affect DS content.

You could start here : http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/install_manager/start

Is it giving any errors? The log in for it is your DAZ log in.

I was loggind into forums when I clicked on the link. I was taken to the location. I got the access denied message when I clicked on the how to configure install manager. I tried to login again with my forums login and got the access denied message again.

WHen I enter my login .... The entry box changes my email address from name@domain.com to name_domain.com. The @@ is working on my computer.

You can see from the javascript message something is not right. because when I used name (at) domain.com I got an error message here on the forums.

    I submitted a support ticket.

The store and forum are separate. To download from your product library you must also be logged into the store. Being logged into the forum doesn't effect the store.

I could not enter my login, because the @ was converted to an underscore.

I am getting the same 'Permission Denied'.

I don't know what login it is looking for, I am logged into the Store and the Forums, and like you, when I enter my email address, the @ symbol is changed to an underscore, and I can't login.

Can you please use the Help > Contact Us button above, and report this to Support.

I will report it as well.

    EDIT:

They've been working on the Documentation Center the past few days, so it's been unavailable periodically.

    @rampart1

I have just had a reply from Support, and they are in the process of sorting this out. As Mike says, they have been working on the whole Documentation area, and they have said that they will prioritize the DIM stuff.

In the meantime, please ask any questions that you have on this thread, and we will help you as best we can.

Please try the pages again over the next while to see if any of them have been made available.

Access to the Install Manager Docs are still not working...

I have question about install manager...

All the files seemed to install properly.

Yet, when I access DAZ3d you can see the box that indicates Missing Files.

Where or how do I change this missing files thing. I don't have a file structure as it describes.

Review the screen captures... The remaining captures will follow in next post this thread.

There is limit of 5 attachements per posting.

If you installed using DIM, the files are installed by default into : C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library

You need to add that path in Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager to BOT DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats so that DS can pick them up, and display them in the Content Library pane.

DIM does not communicate with DAZ Studio, so you need to add the path to your content.
