Installing files with the Install manager is extremely, extremely slow

I have an internet connection with downloads of 50Mbps. That is incredibly FAST.
Yet, the install manager must be serving up the files for download at about 1/10 of 1 Mbps.
Is there a way to speed up the process using the install manager.
When I bough the files they downloaded very fast. In fact all the files from daz3d server by manual download are fast.
I have been using the installer to download and install, because I think it is a good way to manage the files over time.
Is it possible to speed this up and utilize the features of the install manager?
Maybe, a direct copy paste from the manual download files into the relevant folders will work.
I still would have to install those files in such manner as to include them in the install manager.

You can put the files you download manually into the Install Manager download folder (if they're DIM-ready zips, of course) and they'll be recognized. Is this all the time? The only time DIM is slow for me is when there's a lot of traffic.
How about the .dsx files, are they not needed by DIM?
How about the .dsx files, are they not needed by DIM?
DIM will download them if they're missing, but they're tiny compared to the zips. Without them DIM can't tell you what software they're compatible with or let you jump to your order, but it can still install them.
When I access files from Daz3d I get popup message about files that are not available.
Daz will not load the content. A popup box indicates it cannnt find file type associate with content.
I have not set my content for placement in the location Daz3d indicates.
So, from what I read the file pointer is defined (set in stone ) within Daz3d.
Is there any way to change this file pointer in Daz3d?
Sorry, I cannot be more clear at this time. I am at work
Make sure the install location you are using in DIM (default is C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library) is listed in DS in Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager under BOTH DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats.
So... let me make sure I've got this.
I have to use the (default is C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library)
My C:\drive is a SSD and it is full.
Also, if this is the way you have to install content, why do we have any ability to change settings?
Here is are my folders --- Notice in the public folders - there is nothing in the data folder
Nice in the LexLuthor folders there are files in the data folder.
The drive is H:\
Please, look at my folders and see if you can sort out what I should to to salvage the installation of approximately 45GB of content files
for use in Daz3d and Carrara. I appreciate your help. I still cannot get past the permissions problem to study the install manager documents.
You don't have to use the default, but whatever location you use, you need to add inside DAZ Studio so that DAZ Studio knows where to look.
I responded to you in the posting above where I shared the screen captures.
Towards the bottom of the screen captures you will notice
users/Public/Public Documents/Daz 3d/My Library/data - the data folder is empty.
This is where I have settings in installer manager to install
users/lexluthor/Daz 3d/My Library
The folders are placed as they should by installer manager and the data folder is full of files
users/lexluthor/Daz 3d/My Library/data
Here is settings window from Install Manager
If you need additonal screen captures - let me know what you need and I will respond.
Is there a way to do any edits inside Daz Studio? I tried the content management, and it does allow edits...but not the data\ folder pointer.
You want the same path that you show in DIM, up to My Library. In Content Directory Manager, highlight "DAZ Studio Formats" and click "Add" to add the path. You can remove the previous paths if you don't have anything there. Do the same for "Poser Formats".
I think it is a go now.
At least it appears so.
I appreciate your sticking with me on this.
Thank you,
