animate

I'm trying to apply an animation to a character.

The character in my scene says it's a Genesis 2 Female.

I went into the "aniMate -> Fighting" folder and found a "boxing" animation.

I double-clicked it, and nothing happens.

Any ideas how to apply this animation to the character?

If you 'Mouse Over' the icon for Boxing, the Figure in the Scene pane should move accordingly.

When you double click to load the Aniblock, you will need to go to the Animate timeline to see and use it. If you cannot see the Animate tab, go to Window > Panes (Tabs) > Animate to load it into your interface. It is usually stored at the bottom of the UI with the DS Timeline.

    Please Note:
These aniblocks are made for Victoria 4, so they may not work exactly on G2F.

I did a 'Mouse Over' on the boxing icon, and the figure did not move. Can you check if the boxing works for you for Genesis 2 Female?

Also, my pane is called 'aniMate2', not just 'aniMate'. Not sure if that could be a factor.

    Thanks.

I already checked that the mouse over worked before I posted the first time. You don't even need the figures selected in the Scene pane.

I just checked again, and it still works, it also works with the original Genesis as well.

The name of the pane on my system is Animate2 as well, I am not sure what it is if you don't have the paid for plugin.

Just to make sure that we are talking about the same thing here - I am using the Content Library pane, DAZ Studio Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > AniBlocks > animate > Fighting. All of these work on mouse over, but if they don't, you can double click them, and they will load into the Animate2 timeline, or you can even drag and drop them to it as well. All of the AniBlocks work for me on mouse over.

Are you mousing over the Icons in the Content Library pane where it says 'boxing.ds' ?

You say "I am not sure what it is if you don’t have the paid for plugin".

Is it necessary to pay for a plugin to get this to work?

    Thanks.

You may want to check in your plug in info to see and make sure Animate2 is there and the plugin is registered okay and active. There were some bundles before that had a limited time version of Animate (2 I believe). I know I had this before and my trial had run out. When that happened the aniblocks were not working properly for me until I went and bought a full non-limited/non-timed version of the plugin again.

To check your plugin just go to the help menu in the DAZ Studio menu bar and then to "About Installed PlugIns..." . Find Animate2 (or perhaps Animate+ or Animate if you had an older version) in the list. Click on it and check out the Status, Registration, and any other posted info it gives you.

If you do not see it in the list you may not have bought the plug in. Otherwise, it could tell you you your registration is expired if you only had the demo version from one of the starter bundle deals. Lastly if it says you have it in your list, status is green, and registration looks good then the animate pane and hover over in content should be working for you I think.

    Hope this helps you.

I checked the plugin, and the status is green.

However, the boxing still doesn't seem to be working. I made a video of my efforts:

Okay, I am not sure but I want to say it may be the issue I had. My plug in list does not have the partial reg/serial numbers with all the xxxx's by it now that I bought the full plugin. I want to say it did have it before because of the demo trial deal. I am not completely sure its what your issue is though.

To confirm maybe you could go to your product list and search for for Animate2 there and see if you ever bought the full version.

Packages such as this Content Bundle listed the trial for Animate2. You can see it in the whats included section of the page. I believe there was a monster pack sampler and some others way back in the day when Animate2 was originally releasing that had the trial as well.

If you have the full plain Animate2 in your order history then it is a different problem than I am thinking of.

edit: I think if you click on jhe cart in the register/plugin page (From your image above) it may tell you more as well perhaps.

Hmm weird I just noticed something more in your pic you posted. It says evaluation: 30 days remaining. Which would imply that you have a trial version. If it was from a recent purchase you may want to look at the purchase page. If you just bought the content bundle I posted above the issue may be that it shows the animate2 main pic in the included list pics of products and that links to the full version which would lead one to believe it contains the full version...below in what's included and features it says it includes a trial version. If that was the case I would contact DAZ Support and explain the issue with the page.

Also like I said above, I believe the if you click on the little cart icon next to animate in the about plug ins page you showed above it may tell you more.

I sent in a support ticket to DAZ general feedback on the Content bundle page link issue. Not sure if that affected you at all. If it did I suggest contacting DAZ Help on your own to see if they can help you out from here. My support ticket was just to notify them of the issue on that page in general and will not get you help if that is your problem. You would need to contact support yourself to have them help you if this is your problem.

If that is not the issue then I would double check your serial number and registration in the plugin window first, to make sure they are entered correctly.

If its not an issue with getting a trial from a bundle page instead of the full version, and it is not an error in entering your registration, then I am currently at a loss as to why it would not be working.

Can Animate be used with an other figure besides V4? If so, how do I get it to work.

    @mc77

Have you tried double clicking on the Abiblock icons, or dragging and dropping into the Animate2 timeline? They should work from there.

You get Animate2 as a 30 day trial version along with DAZ Studio, after 30 days, it reverts to Animate Lite, but it should still run any
aniblocks that you have. You have the full paid for version for 30 days, but even the Lite version will work with Aniblocks, you cannot create your own aniblocks with the Lite version.

    @jekingwilliams

Yes, aniblocks work with other figures, but there is a foot problem with Genesis/G2 for which there is a correction sub-track called 'Genesis-Offset.DS' which fixes that.

    There is a link here:
