Look at my Hair Caribou preset....

I can't see how to adjust the hair length for this. The preset's hair is too long for a caribou. And, the caribou body is too small. There's no scale slider. Any help is welcome. Thanks.

Hello, I'm not sure what you mean that you can't scale the body, you can actually select the Caribou and scale it from the Parameters pane. However, the shoulder height of the Caribou model is average, at about 1.2m (shoulder height typically measure from 85 to 150 cm).
The preset hair length, as other styling, can be done with the LAMH full version, so if you are using the free player, you cannot.
Cheers
Sir- I'm sure I purchased the complete Look at my Hair on the 15th of January, and ran the executable file.
Regarding the scale sliders, I've attached a screen shot showing no scale sliders at all for the caribou. There are for the hair group, but not the caribou proper.
Again, thanks for your help.
Mike
Click the option button, the lined button at top-left of the pane in your screen shot, and turn on Show Hidden Parameters to get at the scale control.
Odd issue Mike, I checked on mine and I have the Scale sliders visible. Please check if Richard's hint helps...
Naturally, Richard knows what he's doing, and I have the scale parameters. Why something like that would be hidden is a mystery (there's too much to learn!). Now, I need to figure out why I can't get the hair parameters running.
If they are hidden it's an error I made. Tomorrow I'll reinstall the product from the DIM and check again: if it's that way, I'll fix it and submit an update for the Caribou. About increasing the hair length, you could load the Caribou LAMH figure from the Content Library, then start LAMH, and act on the 'Length' slider, which will increase/decrease hair at each step. Once that's done, you can re-export the hair to DAZ, and it's done. If you need help, let me know. Cheers.
I still don't see any method of changing the length of the hair, which is what started this thread. I've re-loaded my ''Look at my Hair'' product through the DIM, and maybe the sliders are somewhere, but I'll be damned if I can find them. Thanks for the help.
See the attached image. You can modify the length using the slider, which acts globally, or the scale tool (linear or smooth) that affects the area under the cursor.
But my point is: I don't have a window pane that has those sliders. The LAMH group is attached to the main object, and I can see the hair follicles, but there is no window pane that I can find with sliders. Where is this pane located? See attached is what I can find. Thanks,
That looks like the LAMH Player rather than the full version. If you go to Help > About Installed Plugins, does it show LAMH Player or the full version, and if both are there what does it say when you highlight the full version?
Is this the latest DAZ Studio (4.7.0.12)? Did you install DS and LAMH with DIM or with stand-alone installers? Was LAMH installed before or after DS?
Sorry but I thought I had answered this earlier, yet it seems I didn't. As fixmypcmike said, you still have the LAMH player installed. Remove it, and you will get the LAMH full version kicking in.
To all helping with this: I have the latest version of DS, the LAMH was installed using DIM after DS was installed. Attached is an image from the ''About Installed Plugins'' showing the the ''Look at my hair Player'' unchecked and the ''Look at my hair'' checked. Thanks for your help.
I think disabling it won't suffice, as the library will still be loaded. You need to disinstall the LAMH Free Player, so that in your DIM you have only the LAMH full version installed (See attached image).
If you still have issues you can also contact me directly at 'info@alessandromastronardi.com'
If they share a .dll I'd uninstall the Player, then uninstall/reinstall LAMH proper through DIM.
To all who helped with this, thanks. Attached is a radically reduced image of the final product.
Very beautiful work, did you manage to render all the scene items at once, or in separate passes and them composite the layers?
Thanks, Alessandro, for the comment. I've always rendered all-at-once. I wouldn't know how to do it any other way. Any thing else would be too complicated for me.
Wow. Nice concept and lovely render.
