Walker HD - rendering settings?

I have tried rendering with the settings that are there when you create the character but Studio just sits there for ages stuck at the point where it gets to render the figure. I terminated the render because it was taking so long.
I changed the resolution level to base and it renders relatively quickly but you lose the HD effect.
How can I get the detail of HD but without huge rendering times. What would be reasonable rendering times for an HD figure? Although this obviously depends on the power of your PC.
I have currently got the scene set up so that only the head and upper torso are actually visible.
Thanks.

I tend to find that with any HD morph applied to a character (including just dental stuff). The render waits for a while, doing whatever calculations it has to, then, once it's completed them, it continues the render at the same speed as before.
can be shaders too
HD stuff renders quite quick for me with a grey default shader but most of the HD figures have fancy SSS etc shaders
Good point, yes.
For what it's worth, the results can be splendid!
Thanks for the pointers.
I let the render run while it appeared 'stuck' and after about 15 minutes or so it freed up and continued.
Rather ironically, I decided that I prefered the non HD render to the HD render for what I was wanting at the time.
