Spanish Moss ?

I see the current advertisement for Tropical Plants and it looks good.

Reminds me of Florida but I don't see any Spanish Moss. Can't have Florida without Spanish Moss. Any available at DAZ? This might be something that a Photoshop "brush" would do well.

The nearest would be http://www.daz3d.com/jungle-vines , but it's a rather old product.
There's some included in Nerd3D Soggy Bottom: http://www.daz3d.com/nerd3d-soggy-bottom
And Traveler has an old product in the Deep Freeze sale at RDNA: http://www.runtimedna.com/Traveler-s-Naturals-Spanish-Moss-Vol-1.html
I haven't used it yet, but I got the Jungle Vines just for the Spanish Moss.
Jungle Vines looks OK and since I can get it for $1.99 tonight, I will.
Soggy Bottom is really nice but not worth the $20 for me.
Renderocity item looks more like real moss but it says not for DAZ Studio.
Traveler's moss (and everything else) work just fine in D/S.
you could use LAMH on the trees
Spanish Moss from Jungle Vines is just a billboards, so it does not look so great.
Oh, OK. Thanks for the information.
But it's a moot point for me now because I ended up buying some more parts of the Genesis "Super Suit" instead. Florida will have to wait.
The Spanish Moss isn't just billboards, but it is made up of transmapped layers so the effect depends on viewing angle - which is why i noted it was an older product
Thanks Richard, that's the proper explanation.
Are there any tricks in Daz Studio, to make this transmapped layers looks better
and not like 2 planes placed at 90 degrees from each other with the flat images on them?
I don't think so. I haven't used the set for ages.
Try picking one axis (perhaps Z) and setting the scale to 1 instead of 100 so it flattens it into a nearly 2-dimensional shape where you won't see the face that's at 90 degrees.
Or possibly if your scene allows, it could be arranged such that the moss is in shadow and not direct light, so that the differences between lit and shadowed angles are less? I see I managed to use jungle vines somehow without it being a big problem in this render, but don't recall if I just got lucky or had to fiddle with it:
Good tips. Thanks.
Poking around last night in my old Studio3 content library I stumbled across a texture for "Moss". Following up on that, I eventually discovered that I had at sometime in the past downloaded "Jungle Vines". Cool! :-)
It doesn't show up in my current DAZ Purchased Items list but I have it. So, it's a good thing that I didn't buy it again.
My content library is very much like my brain. Full of forgotten stuff that just pops out randomly.
