Come on Daz, TWO Anime females, yet no Genesis 2 male?

I'm really getting fefd up with this... We only have a whopping 5 DO Genesis 2 males, yet we get more than a dozen females, almost all of whom have no mates.

Chohole, could you please tell the developers that we want a Freak 6 and Hiro 6, already, and not yet MORE girls? I'm pretty sure that Hiro 6 would sell well, if they'd just get to it already. However, I have no faith that they ever will, or if we do get a Hiro/Freak 6, it will be by a PA, because DAX ids too busy creating a Darwin's Finches-style lineup of DO girls. >_<</p>

Aiko 6, Giselle 6, Lilith 6, Olympia 6, and Stephanie 6 have no mate.... This completely violates DAZ's character development model, where nearly every character gets a mate, and it's one that Daz customers consider sacred-- that and usually trying to release the male mate character following the release of the girl character.

I'm sure I'm not the only customer who is frustrated by this...

Totally agree with this. I've got all of the Generation 6 figures, but I I'm going to pass on Keiko. If I ever feel the need for a stylized Anime-type female, I've already got Aiko 6 -- why would I need two nearly-identical characters that I'll hardly ever use when I already have the one? What a let-down after all that anticipation.

No offence taken, but at first, I thought I was in the gallery and not in the shop, because Keiko looks like A6 mixed with Dolly... Then the prices struck me and I was back home .

Mates?... Well, it's not like DAZ needs their figures to be paired in other to expand business into... err... new generations...

But yes, more males would be great. My pairing of Generation 6 characters is like that:
    V6 - M6 (no-brainer)
    Olympia - Gianni
Gia - Lee (they are martial artists to an extent, Mei Lin is Lee's sister/cousin/whatever)
    Josie - Jayden
Giselle - Brodie (there is no pixie boy, but Brodie's face and general bodyframe fits and Belle is his sister/cousin/whatever)
Lilith - Reptilian (because they look cold-blooded...)?
Stephanie/G6 (because she has more pronounced features) - Minotaur?

This leaves A6, Keiko, Mei Lin, Belle and S6/G6 (depending on who you pair with Minotaur) single. Keiko could be A6's lil' sister. But there is no Hiro, no David, no Freak...

Belle and Brodie are matched pair that, surprise, where released at the same time. Olympia and Gia fight for the love of Gianni, and the evil Lilith is waiting in the darkness for her chance to bewitch him.. Mei Lin and Lee are both Asian so I guess DAZ feels that is close enough. Probably will never see the Freaks since we have Mr and Ms Massive. Poor Aiko jilted again, will she try to break up the Fiendish Friends? And what of the Girl, will her long loneliness drive her crazy and in to the arms of Darwin the Chimp.

    Darwin???

    Hey, it might just work...

As for Brodie and Belle, their simultaneous release may indicate they are siblings :). And who said DAZ can't have multiracial marriages, eh? Mei Lin looks like a good sister to have for Lee (Gia: "And I was first!").

Aiko 6 is only aiko realistic she isn't much anime. DAZ is simply completing the incomplete.
True toons/anime are needed, men a lot: David 6, Hiro 6 and a boyfriend for Keiko 6.
Also Kids 6, Baby 6 (with toon morph in Pippin Basket style, usefull for cards and other arts)

The two scifi-anime suits are fantastics, shinjuku outfit the best of the best.

A6 realistic? With those looong legs...?

A3 WAS realistic if you wanted her to, A6 - not quite. Proportions are anime, not real life.

As for the rest, agreed, agreed. Kiddies... with lots of everyday clothes.

I think the closest we'll have to Kids 6 are the Growing Up morphs. Truth be told there's now a wealth of options for creating youths so I'm very pleased with the current offerings. Belle and Brodie filled a much needed gap for me, and are two of my all-time favourite figures now.

I'm kinda on the fence about Keiko.

I think that blending her with Aiko 6 will give me a certain aesthetic that I want for a particular project.

But there's no point in my getting her if there aren't male companions to Aiko 6 and Keiko in the (near) pipeline, because the project calls for both male and female figures to have the same base aesthetic. That is before I start adding in other dials to distinguish the characters.

Fortunately for me, it is a personal project with no real deadline other than my loosing interest. Might not be so fortunate for DAZ though.

Keiko doesn't look like an anime character at all, to me. Anime girls have small mouths and thin lips, and unlike Aiko, also have squarish faces/pudgy cheeks. In addition, Keiko's eyes are too wide-- too close to the edge of her face for an anime girl. To me she looks like a very poor attempt by a westerner to make an anime character (compared to Aiko who has the typical westerner-created anime look-- comparable to say a Teen Titans character) To me she looks like Girl 4's head with thinner lips and a small amount of Aiko, and her body looks like a mix of a small-breasted Aiko and Belle 6.

I mean seriously, she doesn't even look like something you can't get close to with other existing characters and morphs!
Personally, I don't like how she looks, and won't be getting her.

And seriously, I want a Freak 6 and Hiro 6, and I hope we get Hiro rather than a mate for Keiko. A mate for Lilith would also be nice. I wonder which direction Daz would theoretically go with that-- would they go with a debonair demon lord noble, or would they literally go with an incubus type character with a ripped body, perfect mix of prettyboy and handsome face, and always clad in skimpwear (basic bundle clothing being like-- a speedo or loincloth plus leather boots and bracers. Or alternatively, something similar to Demon Lord Graz'zt's skimpier of his two sets of armor. (note: no nudity, and images follow the board ToU, but may not be NSFW depending on your boss's definitions)

Though I'd much prefer a black leather outfit to match Lilith's as his default outfit...

I'm sure many are awaiting David 6, as well. I wonder if he'll even be released. Something tells me MaleM3dia isn't doing his job and pressuring the DAZ development team strongly or often enough >_> Isn't David like his 1st or second favorite DAZ male? I'm certain he's either right behind or a bit ahead of Michael in MaleM3dia's favorites.

I also wish that DAZ would release a character pair with a more genuine anime look/wider eyes, and yes I know how incredibly difficult that would be to rig. Well, at least we have Kururu 6 for G2F...

Keiko has sort of a bratz doll look to me.

I could use a few more realistic adult male figures. M6 was very disappointing and as a main figure I'd like to see an update.

What about an actual DAZ Anime character. The characters don't really look like a true anime style character.

I would love to see a more authentic Anime style character both a boy and a girl and released at the same time.

I don't know, I'm happily plodding away at my own stuff to pressure anyone. ;)

Also I wasn't a fan of David, sorry. G2M and M6 can do everything David did back then by moving a few dials, scaling down, and using what's currently available.

EDIT: Aside from all reasonable doubts that a new female toon figure is really necessary: Keiko 6 is very cute - 'real' Anime or not. I am not an expert on Anime, but I'm almost sorry that I won't get her because I never have been interested in toon renders. If I was, Keiko would be my choice.

Yep. ;-) I use the undies from OOT and plenty from Sickleyield, but there certainly a need to show off the custom shapes I make (with those glutes ;) ) in more nice undergear, not boring boxers.

Aside from anime, from my perspective there's enough shapes provided by PAs to address David and Freak needs without waiting for an official release. The gene pool is there to add shapes and play around with what's there. For instance, mixing my teens with M6 (and custom body morphs) will bring you a male somewhere in the middle. The dials in the People group aren't locked like they used to, so you can reduce the strength of the overall morph, scale down the body overall and work with arm and leg length to see what you come up with. Also mixing my teen body morphs with the G2M body without my teen base morph will create custom bodies that will mix with the male heads as well; just add a male head of your choice (M6, Gianni, Lee, M4)... then use other body dials to see what you come up with. You're not restricted to a certain size or height like you were with Gen4 males.

Kinda'. I still think it's more of an Aiko 6-meets-Fiends-Forever, because of the stick-thin quality of the proportions.

Mates?... Well, it's not like DAZ needs their figures to be paired in other to expand business into... err... new generations...

Yes, I do find it puzzling when there are calls for Daz to somehow feel obligated to bring out a mirror-image of a character in a different gender.

I mean, Lilith having no 'mate'? Aside from her make-up options (and you can find some very similar gothic-style cosmetics in many female characters in the store), there's zero about her shape which looks inherently dark or 'evil'. Strap her into a bikini or whatever and she'll look just as heroic and goodly as V6, Olympia and whoever else. Plenty of male characters exist to put up against her. Not being an official 'Daz original' product doesn't make them any less valid. :)

The only real exceptions to that are when there's a different style of character. Freak 6, not nearly so much, because SWOLE and Raw Art's impressive muscular morphs now have that pretty much covered. But I can understand people wanting a counterpart character for Aiko/Keiko-style Japanese animation girls. Not necessarily as romantic pairings, but to depict relatives or just to populate scenes with similar types of characters.

In the same regard, 3D Universe kind of has a male counterpart to Girl 6 covered, but there's arguably still room for a 'Boy 6', since 3D Universe's cartoon male for G2M doesn't have a clean-shaven look (unless I'm mistaken) and, with cartoonish characters, you can't just interchange a 'normal' character's skin with them. With realistic characters, you can very much do that and give yourself hundreds, if not thousands of unique-looking characters, just with a small number of base characters and the zillions of shaping morphs we have available.

(EDIT: I could have sworn 3D Universe had a G2M cartoon character... Looks like they only have one for Genesis. Someone has a G2M one!)

I mean, Daz doesn't have any official characters who look anything like a friend of mine, but after a few hours, I was able to make a surprisingly authentic-looking depiction of her for a birthday card. :) When you undertake a mini-project like that, it really helps to confirm just how powerful Daz Studio can be for character-creation.

Optitex is DAZ studio only I am afraid and carrara softbody has limitations
you can however freeze a sim animated even in DAZ and open the duf in carrara 8.5, the cloth must be parented to the figure in DAZ for the created morphs to work in carrara.
Carrara softbody cloth will colide with static figures fine but animated you get issues, is a thread on it.

Not very active lately here on the forums, but seeing a "we need more males complain thread" I'll happily join lol
I know from vendors that male stuff just sells less good and being in several Facebook and DeviantArt groups, female renders and artwork are there in much higher quantities.
But my first reaction also was:"Nooo, not another one!" when seeing another female figure being released :(
