Why can't we create our own bundles?

With every new release of a new character, DAZ offers us different bundles for Starter, Pro and Mega or Whatever. There are always some more or less unwanted items in any bundle, so you've paid for something, that you don't want.
I would recommend, that we could build our own bundles. When you buy 5 products included the new character, you've get 40% off, when you buy 8 products you'' get 50% and for 12 you will receive 60%. Then I can choose, if I want more clothes or more hair or poses together with my new character.
Apart from that should we also can decide, if WE (or in other words = YOUR CUSTOMERS) want Genitals for our characters or not. Of course, in this case the genitals would count as a item, that we have to paid for too.
Would like to know, what you thin about custom bundles?

That would be lovely, but I don't think it will happen. Not with Magento, the poor engine hiccups on every bigger sale. Handling bundles you make would kill it.
You'd need a category with selected items good for bundling. Then, separate discount tiers. It would be pretty much like the last Smash'n'Grab sale, which was very good in my opinion, but of course - as I was told by the support when my cart went bananas - some customers apparently found a way to cheat it and thus, when I came to shop a bit, what I was eyeing got removed.
HiveWire has a stacking system, but unless you go for the full set they prepare, the discounts are so wee you don't actually see them.
But, of course, something like elections for contests "Make Your Own Bundle" would be fantastic. Say, there's a competition: you submit your picks (along with a name for the bundle), then there's voting, the community chooses a bundle and DAZ makes it an official bundle. The author of the idea gets the contents free of charge. Wouldn't it be lovely...?
I hate to say it
but
there are maybe some vendors DAZ uses to pad out bundles who's stuff would not sell so well on its own
and others who are are must have that tend to be extras
I may be mistaken of course but I always find the one or two things I really want are in the dearest bundle if at all.
It was something called Think Outside the Box. As far as I know, they wouldn't make bundles per se; they had to use several things and show the title. Then, additional important assets the winners used went into the bundles too.
As long as I have been here this has been asked over and over again and it looks like no one is listening.
The only thing that can go in DAZ bundles are DAZ products. There are only so many of them, and that is what DAZ does include in the bundles.
DAZ cannot include PA products in the bundles unless they have express permission from the PA for that inclusion. That obviously cannot be done on a transaction by transaction basis depending on what you want to put in the bundle.
The closest DAZ can do to accomplish this is their 30%,40%,50% off sales, where if you buy a certain amount you get higher discounts.
When Daz release a new charater they could create a category with all the content they have produced for that character (maybe the complete content which they offer now only in the mega bundles). And then they should let us choose, which of these items we want buy and not "dictate" us what we have to buy to get some discounts.
Example : A new character was relased and additional 20 products (Characters, Clothes, Hair, Poses) for this character.
Create your own Starter pack (choose 6 products, new character must included) - 40$ (for example)
Create your own Pro Bundle (choose 12 products, new character must included) - 60$ (for example)
Buy the Mega Bundle (all 20 prducts plus the new character) - 80$ (also just an example)
I think RCT-Spanky was requesting exactly that... basically, from the pool of DAZ Originals for the character (in Starter, Pro, and Mega), there should be a way to pick only what you need, and get a discount based on the number of items purchased. 30% off, 40% off, 50% off... based on number of those items being purchased.
I personally did a PC+ Member price breakdown on all of the individual items available for Keiko 6...
STARTER
Keiko 6 $22.03
Amelie for Keiko 6 HD $8.80
Sierra Style for Genesis 2 Female(s) $8.80
Ninja Keiko for Genesis 2 Female(s) $9.78
Koko Hair for Genesis 2 Female(s) $8.80
Keiko 6 Basic Poses $6.35
PRO
FWF Sakura for Keiko 6 $8.80
Shinjuku Outfit for Genesis 2 Female(s) $11.25
The Maid Outfit for Genesis 2 Female(s) $9.78
Keiko 6 Ponytail $8.80
i13 Manga Style $4.88
MEGA ITEMS
FWSA Effie for Keiko 6 $8.80
School Girl for Genesis 2 Female(s) $12.23
Manga-Anime Battlesuit for Genesis 2 Female(s) $9.29
Jazmin Hair for Genesis 2 Female(s) $9.78
Keiko 6 -kun Poses $6.35
Anime Girl Accessories for Genesis 2 Female(s) $4.88
EXISTING BUNDLES
Keiko 6 Starter Bundle $44.08 ($38.08 after $6 PC+ coupon for DAZ Originals)
Keiko 6 Pro Bundle $66.13 ($58.13 after $6 PC+ coupon for DAZ Originals)
Keiko 6 Mega Manga Bundle $90.14 ($84.14 after $6 PC+ coupon for DAZ Originals)
In the end, it would have cost me between $90.96 or $100.74 for the 9 or 10 individual items (of 17) that I would actually use... so I just went with the Mega Bundle... which was a little less than purchasing the items I needed individually, and included one item I was on the fence about.
It can be frustrating to receive items that you won't use in a bundle, but you don't have to download or install them. The Install Manager has taken so much of that pain away.
Kaleb is right. That is why I did not buy anything - I wanted the clothes (except for Shinjuku and the battlesuit) and hairstyles; it would cost more than the bundles. I will sit it.
Spanky, your idea with categories is sensible. Even with DOs, there would be enough to choose from.
