Nice work, although the female looks a little too masculine in the face for me. I am really interested in the outfits used in the promos though, part of the package or in the store now?

The male wears Wildenlander HD, the female - Fantasia (PC+).

As for your comment about the body... If Rawn wanted to make drows as per roleplaying games' descriptions, then yes, they are lithe and of small posture (after all, they live underground, if you are 2 m high and live underground, you are bound to earn knocks on your head like Carrot did). However, if those are non-RPG-inspired creatures, all is up to Rawn. His females are usually very masculine. That's his style.

Its one of the things I really like especially in regards to the female, the wiry muscular is look not something we usually see, its makes a nice change.

After the absolute wall of anime girls and such of late I was beginning to think I would never see a male character in the store again! Your Ogora character is the best 3D orc yet and I'm hoping Dokk Alfar is going to do the same for dark elves. I have one or two but they've never worked out for me. And of course with HD! Goes without saying that I have bought the male one and I'll be seeing how he renders shortly.

As for conceptions of what dökkálfar were actually meant to look like, there isn't much to go on (they may even have been dwarves) and few seem to agree on it—other than that they were dark and lived underground. They do seem most similar to drow, but they predate RPGs by quite a few centuries! For me, Rawn's concept is very much how I think of them.

The shaping on the characters was intended to be very sharp and angular, to give them a distinct look. I wanted them to be kinda thin and ethereal, but with still with a muscularity that would show them as strong fighters, and not just typical dainty fairy types. These guys mean business.
So yes, the female may not be as soft and curvy as alot of the characters in the store, but she could easily be made softer with the application of other morphs. So that is why I made something a bit more unique.

I for one love it. I'm always happy to see buff ladies with the lesser amount of body fat all over that should be entailed by that much definition. People who want to can always use the skin on a softer female if that's what they want. Into the cart it goes!

Here's a quick render I did of the male. The body sculpt is great and I really like the marbly texture with the blue veins effect. It gives a great illusion of translucency and depth.

Done with Luxrender via Reality 4. (As with Ogora and other tinted and darker skins, I needed to change the absorption and scattering colours for the SSS skin texture.)

I really like the female shape! Rawn's managed to convey strength wonderfully with her character. She could easily stand in as a sibling for Gia 6 and Predatron's/'Diane's Heroine character, judging by that.

Not sure if she was inspired by this, but the first thing which came to mind when I saw her, was a female qunari, from the 'Dragon Age' games:

Is there a way to make the white eyebrows dark? And are the sharp ears optional? I'm interested in using the general shape for strong-willed female human characters, because I like it so much. :)

Nice render. I think he looks good with longer hair.

I really like the female shape too. The morph is full body, however—there are no separate dials for the head or the ears so you can't just use the body alone. There is one dial for the main shape and another for the HD option.

Thanks, Cecilia! Well I think it's traditional for elves to have long hair, and I think this one really suits him.

Aw, shame. Still really like the look of these shapes, regardless. Thanks for the heads up, Hiro!

I didn't comment about the body, just the face, but thanks for the clothing links.

Thanks for the info. I actually love the body shapes, too bad about not being able to change the face only.

Some people like stronger women. :P
This is 100% Dokkalfar female, about 33% of Rawn's muscle morphs, and about 50% Olympia. Only postwork was brightness/contrast adjust. As always, thanks Rawn!

I am digging all the renders!

Yes, I make my characters as full body morphs without separate head and body dials.
I know some people do not like this approach, but it lets me make much more cohesive characters, where heads and bodies properly match up with each other, and that type of cohesive look is much more important in developing a quality character than something that is made patchwork style.
