Slow grope has been suggested at times but it never caught on
it goes through cycles, some weeks there is a high turnover with items only there for hours
ROFL love "Slow Grope" :-)
And how about: "Sluggish Sale" or "Stagnant Bargains"
Again, I think this is a result of too many pots on the fire.
I vote for "Slow Grope." I can't recall anything moving out of FG rapidly. Things before the site change did move fast. Then when the new site went active, Fast Grab was dropped completely. Protests brought it back, but I don't think DAZ has any interest in maintaining it.
I'm sure they'll change the selection ... soon.
It was originally called Faust Grab until someone informed DAZ that they couldn't actually take someone's soul over the internet.
Yet.
HURRY! UPDATES DAILY!
(weekly)
Or perhaps it updates weakly? 8-O
I don't think that is correct. When the new site went active there was no direct link to FastGrab (just like now since the latest site update). As I recall, the protests were about FastGrab before the site change changing too fast, so when they started it up again after the site change they made it a manual, 24-hour system rather than the previous automated one.
False advertising! =-) I see no hottie Michael 6's in fastgrab. Beckoning rudely or ready for Kung Fu action. =-)
"What am I, chopped liver?"
"What am I, chopped liver?"
No, but I bought it all ;) Next!!

Flash sales were definitely too fast. Some people lost them with the items still in their baskets. But daily fast grabs should be, well, daily.
Perhaps if there were only two or three items in the FG list and it all changed on a reliable schedule.
Or if they really want more in the list, have them cycle in/out on a reliable schedule.
On my daily "to do" list.
1) wake up
2) smell the coffee
3) catch the morning weather report
4) check FG list
5) vegetate...
It's the "reliable schedule" that would keep me coming back. Knowing that I could see a new item there every day. Even if it's not an item I like I feel warm and fuzzy knowing that tomorrow at this same time may bring a happy surprise. But when you look day after day at the same stuff you already didn't want you aren't going to change your mind and suddenly buy something.
The purpose of dynamic offerings is to keep people coming back and giving them a shot of adrenaline each time. Getting set for a "fix" and then being let down is a bummer and a half. :-(
"What am I, chopped liver?"
LOL. You made me crack up. But... Sadly for Mr. Konrad, he looks a bit too young for hottie status. =-)
But then we would have to change the name DAZ 3D Freebies to "DAZ 3D Free Things That Require Paid Things To Be A Useful Thing At All" and really, who want to fit that on to a banner?
...interesting in that they changed the image on the banner but not the items on sale.
I have thought of it as "Slow Grab" for a long time now. Still, I have picked up a few bargains in that section. Of course, a "bargain" is a fragile, transient thing in the DAZiverse.
My suggestion is to rename the category "Flash Grab" and change it into a store category that takes you to all of the items currently listed in any active PA Flash Sales.
No Flash Sales in operation? Then the Flash Grab section is empty. Simple.
Or, if you don't like that, how about "Cash Grab"? - the section where DAZ can grab some more cash from you by selling you some items that you know you don't need but the price is so insanely low that you just have to hit that Add to Cart button.
Or then there's "Flush Grab" - where products that don't sell get flushed away and discounted by 99% when you buy another six DAZ originals (but not new releases, and not on an even numbered day). All items must be in your cart at the same time, of course :)
Or here's another corker ...
What about "Your Grab"?
Once a month every DAZ account holder gets a YourGrab ticket. This entitles them to select one item in the YourGrab sale category. They then enter the price that they would pay for it. If the price they enter is greater than or equal to a hidden minimum set by the PA, then they can purchase the item at that price, IF they also buy another three store products.
All items must be in the cart at the same time. Excludes New Releases. Excludes shopping carts where the total number of vowels in the combined product names exceeds the cost in dollars of the cheapest item.
And then there's ... oh, but this is just silly. NOBODY would ever do sales that complicated. ;)
...maybe it's set to the Lunar Synodic day. One daylight - night cycle on the moon is roughly 29.5 days on Earth.
What we need obviously is a "DAZ Sales Sliderule". It has scales for time of day in an unnamed mystery time zone, phase of the moon, number of days since release of the product, relative desperancy of the PA, number of vowels in the combined product names, probability of web failure, number of overtime hours of catalog manager, absolute desperancy of buyer, and probability of PayPal delay longer than expected sale duration.
If there's something I actually want, it's gone before I can get home to buy it, but if I'm not interested it stays for weeks...
And if they email me about a flash grab, it's already over by the time I get the email.
Here's the problem. We've misinterpreted the meaning of "fast". Merriam Webster says:
Full Definition of FAST
1
a : firmly fixed
b : tightly shut
c : adhering firmly
d : not easily freed : stuck
e : stable
Google "fast grab" and you get glues/adhesives so it SHOULD be stuck after all
Eventual Grab or Maybe Grab
My suggestion for the name: DAZ FAST GRAB (we all know time is a relative thing in DAZverse).
99% discount? Heh, good!
Come on, those aren't only textures! I have managed to collect very freebie from the Thrilling Twelve so far - and it included hairstyles, base clothes, cool characters, props... Even figures (DAZ Elephant, A3, MilCat LE).
