For those of us in the UK, M6 is promoting the Fast Grab sale by making a rude gesture. Is he trying to put us off?

"Up yours" to you too, Mike!

Different parts of the world must see different things, to me it looks like the classic kung fu movies Bruce Lee taunt, "Bring it on"

I was told a story once that someone went to an English pub or something like that and ordered two drinks and wondered why the bartender was offended. I think the bartender told them what they did wrong.

That is not a typical "V" sigh as used in the UK (and possibly other countries. The fingers in that image are curled, which is not how a "V" sign is made. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_sign

And historically the "V" sign was not meant to be an insult, it was a sign made by Archers to show their enemies that they could still shoot them, as in times past some countries would cut fingers off the dominant hand of captured archers, so that they couldn't use their bow any more. SO rather than an actual insult it was meant to show the enemy that they were still viable as a dangerous enemy, although there is some doubt as the the absolute accuracy of this.

It is only in modern times that it has become an insulting gesture,

I think his fingers indicate how many more weeks the current selections will be sitting in Fast Grab.

    ,

And throughout North America that standard victory V, stand for "Peace" as in counter culture flower child, "peace, man"

It's amazing, what people are offended by. 8-o

People subconsciously see what they want to see.

And to think, "twerking" not long ago would have landed you in jail in some places. And probably still will. 8-s

People will go all "postal" over a finger gesture or a drawn image yet we, are apparently jaded by daily neighborhood shootings, and the leading story on the evening news is some sports related irrelevancy.

    Human beings? Oy!

Can I change my species please? :-(

“I believe that our Heavenly Father invented man because he was disappointed in the monkey. I believe that whenever a human being, of even the highest intelligence and culture, delivers, an opinion upon a matter apart from his particular and especial line of interest, training and experience, it will always be an opinion so foolish and so valueless a sort that it can be depended upon to suggest to our Heavenly Father that the human being is another disappointment and that he is no considerable improvement upon the monkey.” – Mark Twain

Couldn't agree more. I also see a kung fu type stance.
