Just what the image says:
Overclockwork Orange?
This count?
When bone pose copying goes wrong ...
I've posted this one a bunch of times...
It was based on DAZ's new logo squid head logo (yeah, it's not new anymore, and it's not supposed to be a squid, but still)
I found this one recently, it goes back to the old pre 2012 forums...
I shouldn't have to explain that one, but it's referencing the "DAZ Soon" concept of time (DAZ soon: 1- A general good natured attempt at relating an unspecified or incomprehensible time frame to human understanding. 2- An expression of a theory in quantum physics where time actually stops. 3- Equal to or greater than a Epoch. 4- Wishful thinking.) which is an old running joke for long time DAZ fans... the "I want to believe" part is a reference to Fox Mulder's poster from The X-files.
Not sure if this is funny, but I posted it a while ago in the Complaint Thread... it's a diagram for a plan on how to save the world using the residual perpetual heat from Hot Pockets...
If you've ever eaten a Hot Pocket, you know they never actually cool down once you microwave them... I think the half-life is around 36,000 years.
I think it's also one of the board textures for a white board model I made.
I never really know if my dumb jokes land, but this was relevant to one of my long posts about polydactyl cats, most of whom are extraterrestrials... (long story and I'm not sure anyone wants to read that one again)...
By the way, that's Atticus Meowington, he's a know criminal, who's wanted on over thirty worlds for crimes including, but not limited to: embezzlement, fraud, bribery, insurrection without a permit, disintegration of a municipal planetoid, grand theft spacecraft, public nudity, insider trading, theft of services, copyright infringement, operating a flamethrower in a public space while intoxicated, impersonating a physician, use of a doomsday device without a license, failure to yield, desecration of a corpse, identity theft and hacking up a hair ball on a public official among many other charges...
He recently escaped from prison again and was last seen wearing a dachshund costume while boarding a plane to Australia where it is believed he owns a bungalow outside of Brisbane... if you spot him, inform the local authorities and be careful, he is believed to be armed, but he's an incredibly bad shot and is really slow due to his weight problem.
From last year... pandemic related humor to stave off insanity... which quite obvious is a moot point as I was riding that goat long before the pandemic...
Remember not being able to buy toilet paper?
Read the information plaque...
I still have that on display in my living room... just in case.
In an effort to eliminate the need for toilet paper and get rich quick, I invented this...
Sponge-On-A-Stik...
Yeah, it says Sponge-On-Stick in bold letters, but I was in a hurry...
Someone suggested I needed an eye catching logo... so...
In my defense, no sponges were murdered to make that joke, I live near the water and they wash up on the beach all the time after a storm or Kaiju attack.
Also the product is no longer available because apparently nobody got that desperate...
Yet.
Fun Fact: The Ancient Romans used sponges on sticks to clean their bottoms... most people used communal toilets back then (usually a series of open button marble seats over flowing water)... there were usually buckets where the used sponges went... servants would rinse them off for later reuse.
So really, my idea wasn't so bad, because you own the Sponge-On-A-Stick, and you aren't relying on some random digruntled servant to rinse it off and possibly rub it on poison ivy.
I thought they had a communal sponge.![surprise surprise](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/omg_smile.png)
PSW (Plan to Save World) lazy birds started something funny.
Yeah, actually most people did... attendants or servants would rinse off the communal sticks and make sure "fresh" ones were available... but the wealthy often had their own fancy ones which their personal attendants or slaves would clean... if you were wealthy enough you had your own toilet in your villa... (that was rare)... most people just used chamber pots or the equivalent. Generally the communal toilets were more prevalent in well off cities... people use the ones in Pompeii or Rome as examples, but those were really exceptions... that and as popular as social pooping was, most communal toilets were located at baths... so nobody was going to walk six blocks to poop... and for the most part, the lower classes were segregated to some extent in these places... like you wouldn't see a senator and some plebe pooping together, shooting the breeze about their favorite gladiators...
Mostly the poor got the communal stick... as they still proverbially do.
Yes modelers, I can easily relate to this (source unknown):
LOL! Oh my gosh, that is so how I started learing 3d modeling. But why walk when you can run, eh?![laugh laugh](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png)
The struggle. . .
...so true.
It must have been interesting at times. The sponges on sticks were left sponge down in vinegar when not being washed or used. Imagine vinegar on piles or sores. Must have been eye watering in at least two ways.
Oooh, yeah... I forgot about the vinegar... that's a real dealbreaker on the communal sponge... besides it being a communal sponge to begin with.
it puts the Roman guard giving Jesus a sponge dipped in vinegar on a stick to quench his thirst into context![surprise surprise](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/omg_smile.png)
... when you realise it is that sponge
The conversation is flerting with political and religion so lets move on from those topics.
Hmmm ... maybe this is less political and religious ... but not quite directly related to rendering either - but sometimes my renders come out like this.
Make Art script version 1.0
I think my previous post applies to this too. :P
