Save node visibility with ERC freeze?

As the picture shows, I have a morph dial that I want to use to control not only two other dials, but also the visibility of several nodes. The options are there to do this, I accept the options and everything seems to work fine. When I save and reopen the file, though, none of the visibility settings have been saved with the ERC.

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

I just tried this and the link is set to save with the Visible property, not with the controlling property. That means if you save your new property as an asset it won't have the link. You need to find the property in the property hierarchy pane (if you have the Parameters pane in edit mode just right-click on it and select Show in Property Hierarchy), then expand Sub-components>1st Stage>Visible>Attributes>Save With, click where it probably says visible and select the actual control property from the list.

I think I know what your are saying--I set "Visible" to off in the parameters tab under Display on all the nodes I wanted to hide. Then I did an ERC freeze, selecting all the visible properties. Once I did that, I got the result in picture here.

If I right-click on the place where it says ERC [DeltaAdd] Fold3, it gives me the save with option, but everywhere else it is grayed out. Basically, I get the same result. All of these options seem to be there, but once I save as a figure asset, all the visibility controls disappear.

In other words, still doesn't work. Grrrr!

I tried same thing, but I can not find way to save node visiblity ERC forumula on to figure.dsf and morph dsf.

I made empty controller first, and saved it as morph .

then set ERC for three node visiblity, manually.

I can set ERC for some nodes visibility with new controller, and set "save ERC with" option .
    I tested both cases.
(save with new controller, and save with each node visibility)

then, save modified assets, save morph, save as new figure, etc. but it could not work for me.

I could save as scene subset, which only keep the switch controllers with ERC.
I feel, the node visiblity ERC forumla can be recorded on the subset.duf only
or there should be some limitation.

  • Hello,

It appear that the visibility can not be controlled by ERC. I suggest the following alternative. Using the keyed approach with the constant interpolation  simply move the object (figure, prop) out of the scene by translating it with a very high value. With the constant interpolation approach, the object is instantaneously move to the new position and disappers.
