Let's do the decent thing and share the workload - you go to the gym and I'll have fun, ok? ;)

"but I can't see it change at all"

The effect is more pronounced at more northerly (or southerly) latitudes, and greatest at the poles, as you have said. Closer to the equator it is less pronounced and less detectable by the human eye except over long periods of time. However, if you want to see it, get a telescope or powerful binoculars mounted on a tripod and focus on a specific object. I am not an astronomer, amateur or otherwise, but several years ago I inherited a telescope and when I set it up for fun I discovered immediately how much movement there was. I was focused on venus or mars, I cannot remember which, and had great difficulty keeping the object in the field of view, having to almost constantly adjust the instrument. That is why the expensive instruments and the "big boys" have motors and mechanisma to rotate slowly and keep them focused on an object of interest.

... the best way to learn Iray is to observe the world around you as it works the same way , it is rather a light simulation than rendering and everything we see is just a light projection like a real time movie ..welcome to the real Matrix ! lol nothing is what it seems ..

While I agree on general with the statement, the key is the last phrase. In fact, something people forget about 3D rendering is just a simulation. I my opinion, Realism in 3D is overrated. Advertising photography is the art of hyperrealism, or can you buy those strawberries? Every movie produced in the last decades will pass for some post-production work as color correction and fx. So, nothing is really what it seems.

Remember, while Iray is physically based, it is not necessarily physically accurate. In the real world, an emissive surface in front the camera cannot be hide. It can be on Iray. In Lux render you cannot hide a mesh light. Someone will say this is accurate.

How about a swim in the pool? Perfect day to practice your underwater swimming with your flowing long hair. But be careful the pool guy wants to slap an iray watermark on your backside as soon as you get out of the pool. surprise

It's been a long day for my girl, hosting a barbeque for family and friends. Now that the guests have all left, she takes a few minutes to enjoy the sunset and find a measure of peace after the chaos. "Let's do this at Mike's place, next year," she mumbles around the straw. After all, her brother's got a bigger backyard, and a wife to help with the clean up!

    Celebrating Cath's birthday and generosity

Thank you, Cath, for your generosity.

Used "The Backyard" and a free hdri from hdrmaps.com for the set and environment. The hair is Asteria Hair, (longer and fuller volume,) and the sandles are from Casual Romper. I used ParrotDolphin's free leather Iray shaders on the sandles. The drink cup and straw are from Everyday Snacks.

The world is created in your brain .. strawberry field nothing is real  ... especially if the world around us is just light projection , we see stars that don't longer exist and if you go enough far away from the earth with the speed of light and look at it back with a super telescope you will see Dinosaurs walking on so what is real ? the world you create or render or simulate in DS is the world of your imagination and how you see it for real.. for you it may be real enough for others not ..it depends of the level the other users are currently on ..17 years ago we make sounds of wow and omg for something today we see as cartoon .. back then it was realistic .. we can go on and on ..so for real..nothing is real lol I am looking forward what the future will bring us

Thanks, MEC4! I had tons of fun with your freebies, though I had to retexture them; I don't have Iray. But that's no problem at all.

Schwartzwald, that's a very lovely region.  Myself I am Dutch by birth, lived in Denmark (Odense), France (Vichy) and now Northern Ireland (Belfast), love to travel and move every few years, but the health makes that difficult now.
