I'm probably considered boring to most, too, I guess.  I've been to California once in my life.  It wasn't a vacation, though.  It was to get my dad's place ready for sale after he passed.  Stayed in Palm Springs and drove to Twentynine Palms every day for five days. The wind turbines in the vally were crazy!  Over three thousand of them!  Quite a sight.  Of course I loved the scenery, but couldn't enjoy it too much.  Other than that, I've only vacationed in New England mostly, upstate New York a few times, went to Pennsylvania once for vacation and once many years ago on a church trip to see Kathryn Khulman (not even sure if I spelled that right, it's been so long).  We go to New Hampshire a lot, sometimes Vermont and sometimes Maine.  That's it, though.  There's a lot of this country I'd like to see, but money is a big problem lately.

...boring old codger out here on the "Left Coast" (Oregon) .

Actually used to travel a lot in my younger days (when flying actually was an enjoyable experience and there were "real" trains with "celebrated" names).

Been to and through most parts of the country including all four corners of the Continental US, as well as Alaska and Hawai'i.  Been to Canada several times. Spent time in Europe- Germany (both East and West Berlin when it was still divided), France, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) ,Switzerland, Italy.

Still on the bucket list (If I ever ome into any money again): Australia, New Zealand, UK (Especially Scotland), Ireland, Scandinavia, Poland, Russia, Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Low Earth Orbit (need to win the Powerball for that)..

Also would love to do a roller coaster tour of the US, ride the Trans Canada Train between Toronto and Vancouver and cruise the Inside Passage to Alaska (last time I was there was by plane).

    "Trans Canada Train"

Its called "The Canadian", KK. Not very original, perhaps, but it has had that name practically forever.

I am from and live in central (upstate) NY. I've been lucky enough to travel a bit - been to England a few times and a brief trip to Paris.

Nothing like taking in the landscape and seeing the lives of people in the country itself, interact with the locals, immerse yourself in their culture, etc. Eat the local food (instead of the same old boring stuff at a hotel). Done that everywhere I went to and the list is long, as I have been to practically every european country, including a few of these city states like Andorra, Liechtenstein. Three visits to the US and the trip to Lebanon while in the army. Some good memories there, except for the latter. Wanted to go to Asia and a few other locations, but bad health holds me back for the moment.

Australia / New Zealand is one of the last places I want to go, as there's a good chance I won't leave again after that.

I've been to Nice for a week (for work!) in November - chilly! :)  Got told on the flight out that whilst work was paying for the seminar the hotel (which we selected on the same form!) was NOT being paid for and we'd have to claim that money back, and my credit card was maxed-out ... ;)

Apart from that I have not really travelled, unless you count time travel - which involves going to the Isle of Wight and is like going back in time 40 years ;)

It's not that bad Simon! Here on the Isle of Wight life just doesn't go so quickly. More sedately.  Probably because of all the retired people.

New Years in Vienna was absolutely magical - I'd recommend that to anyone. Some of Western Europe I've been to - France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Yugoslavia (as it was then), Greece, Turkey, Malta, the Balierics, Israel, Egypt. I spent a week in Australia, visiting relatives (only saw a tiny corner of the country). I've spent way longer in New Zealand (I'd emigrate, but I'm too old now unless I marry a Kiwi).

Australia to me feels much more American than it does British. Talking of America, I've been to Dallas & travelled around Texas. I spent a week working in Las Vegas (remember Comdex?), and I had a weekend break in New York a few years after 911, and that's about it. I've spent a couple of not particularly pleasant hours in the transit "lounge" at LAX, after which I pledged always to take a "not via US" route if one was available. So now I've been briefly to Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok too.

    Finland, Finland, Finland
The country where I want to be
    Pony trekking or camping
    Or just watching TV
    Finland, Finland, Finland
    It's the country for me

That's a lot of travel, to me.  Remember COMDEX?  I worked for COMDEX from 1995 to 2001, when they began to go bellie-up (due to some really bad decisions made by the CEO at the time...he was never really a good fit for the company). Best company I ever worked for!

Sorry this is so late in getting posted.  Just love this dress!  This is the G2F version, but the G3F version works wonderfully on Vic7 as well.  Thanks so much for sharing with us!  Click for a larger version.

Maybe a vibe off 'The Hills Are Alive' laugh

    Hallo Cath,

Forum's at it again no notifications of posts at all

Was getting lots of updates then partial updates and now none

Are you sure you visited the thread after the last notification?

I haven't gotten email notifications since the website changed. I had assumed it was functionality that wasn't restored.

(and after Richard finaly restored my email notification a couple of weeks ago)

    @ MEC4D:

I just watched you video on YouTube concerning the Iray Render Engine, and your Facial Hair Product. I cannot recall the name of the product, so my apologies there. Still I have to say I am impressed that I could not tell the difference between a photo and your mastery of Iray. If I had not watched the renders happening, I'd swear they were photos! I bow to your prodigeous skill with the Iray Render Engine!

You mean click gear, click my name, click SECOND BLUE gear, click edit profile, click Notification Preferences, and then checkmark the email columns for "Notify me of private messages & Notify me when people comment on my bookmarked discussions.", since there is no "enable emails for replies." ? I checked that earlier, which is why I assumed it wasn't working yet.

    "my location tells it all"

Except our profiles no longer show location, Mustakettu. But I'm assuming you are referring to the longest railway in the world?

Lying in your bed and on a Saturday night
You're sweatin' buckets and it's not even hot
But your brain has got the message
    And it's sending it out
To every nerve and every muscle you've got

You and me we're goin' nowhere slowly
And we've gotta get away from the past
There's nothin' wrong with goin' nowhere, baby
But we should be goin' nowhere fast

All i could think of was Streets of Fire with that quote LOL
