Not really, I spent like $1800 on the 2 CPUs in 2016, now they run for $400 each , half the value but it can cover some costs of my upgrades

maybe I can use Thunderbolt in the future and add the 5th Titan X lol  just kidding, I am not into crazy stuff anymore , I had enough haters on youtube for having 4 xTitan X using to render in DS .

Whenever I see or hear someone say 'more power' I always think of "more power, Igor!" of the film Young Frankenstein (though I hav emy doubts that line is in it!) wwhich always reminds me of your Igor figure which is w wonderful version of Marty Feldman in the role laugh

...I remember your videos with the screen set to Iray view mode which seemed to refresh almost instantly. I still have to wait a little but nowhere near as excruciating as using Iray View was on the CPU.

Not into dong a lot of pre work orther than assembling the scene and adjusting materials/lighting.  That railway station Scene I did a couple years ago was 8.9 GB in system memory (9.3 with the Daz programme open).  8 figures, and lots of special effects as well as emissive lights.  That was when I started creating/posing characters and testing scene elements separately before adding them into scene, as trying to make camera adjustments with everything in it was reidculously slow even in openGL mode .

I tested yesterday with 2 cards only and the preview screen works instantly , no drag on anything , I used streets of London for this test , so much faster than in older DS versions

now imagine 2 x RTX Titan with Nvlink would create 48GB of VRAM   , something to dream about ...

I remember the scene you made, it was beautiful , people was thinking it was a photo at. first , but hey, you made it , that what counts , I like challenges , make it even more special .

...thank you.  Sadly the scene file (along with many others) was lost in a drive crash a year and a half ago. Still have the rendered version (was on a different drive).

Been rebuilding the characters for my story and RPG illustrations as I lost all those presets as well.

sorry to heard about that , it was so good scene !

couple years ago, I had 3 copies of all files, and 3 HD diet on me on the same day, talking about bad luck , most of them was 2TB , from the moment I buy only WD My Passport Ultra external drive 2TB and they last for 4 years without issues  , I only recently lost my old Toshiba HD , I had there all shades scan materials , the files got corrupted , could not recover anything using soft. The only thing was my Nefertiti project backup, I am going to convert it to G3 & G8 , a lot of people outside our community like companies want always products for G3 or early , that come with DS as started kit

the back head was not edited to match the hair shape better, but going to make additional morph for the original scull shape for the bald look , I wonder how she gonna look with all the skin and shades and clothing.

and also tonight working on London Bobby as well

Very strong and sophisticated , not for nothing 1st Chief King's Wife  aka Nefertiti Neferneferuaten   a Beautiful Woman has come, Beautiful are the beauties of Aten,

alternate theory suggests she was a princess from the Mittani kingdom in northern Syria , she kinda looks like a Syrian , when you saw her in real in Berlin, you will see the real skin color  is a baby pink especially around the ears where nobody touched it and made it dirty ( I have the original color swap of Nefertiti from the museum for references ) , the lights made her looking golden tan but that is not the actual color, royal women in 18th dynasty avoided sun since they spent more time indoors , that was the trend for all royal women with opposition for the husband's darker skin in order to symbolize the outdoor life of most males .

There was used only 4 colors to paint the sculpture , and she wearing a Linen headress and gown with bits , no golden crown or necklage, Egyptians did not had color metals , and the blue available was just as a stone and pigment , so not possible to wear a crown made from a stone or metal , the "golden" part is just a natural Linen head band so the headress don't slide down . I can imagine wearing metal headress like that, her neck would snap in two lol, from the last discovery they found out that was a full figure sculpture and not a bust, they found another done this way with head separate from the body . She must looking beautiful as full sized figure, well soon we will find out in DS when she come back to life ! scattered by the Egyptian plato HDRI light  lol

Talking about Egypt, I also made the famous "'Cleopatra Needle " HDRI in Center Park, the other one is in London

It was originally erected in the Egyptian city of Heliopolis on the orders of Thutmose III, around 1450 BC, so it is over 3450 years old.

They cleaned it and renovated not long time ago, sadly the golden cap was never found and lost in Egypt. By the rising of the sun the first object that catch up the sun was this obelisk with it's golden cap , so people can see the sun light, long before the day arrive.

    Beautiful...

she actually reminds me a lot of Cate Blanchette (especially in her 'Galadriel' character) in face structure.

Thanks, yeah. I can see it , the high cheekbones structure and strong nasal bridge ,

however after my research I made some test for the look, based on Syrian women, as they have the wide jaw line and straight nasal bridges , first she reminds me of a Turkish woman, before I read about the theory.

I did not put any textures on until I am done, it will motivate me to see the final result .

but she may looks like as the preview below , just tinny older and the eyelids little bigger or maybe we got totally surprised by the look,  that why it is exciting , as it will be as closer as it can get to her bust face , but the human skin and proper clothing may put her in total different light , we see ..

Hi guys and gals, I am quiet and doing a lot of stuff , just finished facelifting of my website today as well , maybe around next week I am going to remove all products from my website and keeping just my photography work , if I can transfer them to here would be cool, we see how it goes . I may be ready for some freebies at the end of this week as well for you.

so many things to do, so little time , tomorrow preparing PBR woods shaders for Iray , over 50 species with additional settings for around 150 shaders in total , mostly for furniture , floors and other Woody objects, Saturday going into the woods for scanning raw woods surfaces and other stuff , I just need shaders that matching proper HDRI as many of the original on props are too dark or to shiny and need custom replacement  . It is going to be much fun ;) stay tuned !

Quick question; Will stuff such as Unhaven 3 that we have purchased on your website remain available for download? I've already downloaded but just wondering if I need to make a backlup copy on a flash drive.

I am still looking for better solution to keep the files in archive, I have all data and orders since 2007  as I make regularly backups to my Dropbox as well . If you need a copy in the future  just let me know the regular way.

Thanks, me too lol I downloaded some test models from the internet but the materials were not so good , kinda old school and flat , so it is better to just replace it and save for later the easy way. Also I need to make some PBR DS hair shaders , as a lot of people use my metal shaders for it, but that's not the way , the hair need  cross anisotropic specularity, that what happens when light bounces off a micro-grooved surface, kinda as my PBR Satin/Silk shaders that was based on Nvidia MTL documentation for micro-grooved surfaces ,but need adjustment for the translucency , that why we call a healthy shiny hair a Silky Hair, Pixar using the same methods in their hair work as well. Talking about the DS hair, I missed the global gravity option to avoid the "'bald spot"' look I see in most all renders using the hair , especially if the hair is very short, manual adjustments are time consuming . It is 4:30 am and I am ready for the adventure with the wood today , a lot of scanning a head , it is going to be productive day until the heat arrive in the afternoon , yesterday was 40°C (104F), the AC did not make it bellow 27°C (80F) had to blow the AC direct on my PC , that why I get up early today , outside right now 26°C (79F) at 4 am , feels like late August weather , thankfully it going to cool off before my Saturday's Photo session in the reservation .

I've tried to convert your unshaven 2 hair shaders to octane but never had much success. Octane does have an actual hair shader now but its only for actual strand hair, but I cant even get it to look right on daz strand hair, I assume its cause of the way daz produces the strands so I'm left experimenting with shaders still.
