Hi, great to see you back, I have and love several of your products, including Darkon, which leads me to ask - did you ever release Buddy 3?

  • MEC4DMEC4D Posts: 5,249

Hi, Thanks !  I was for plan back then (Gen3 ) but Genesis 8 was released and I dropped it  , however after I am done with my currently projects I am going back to this one again but using different skin model for my Buddy3 , much better one and based on 3D human scan .

That sounds ar ... er, backwards ... Check the item is enabled for SubD and that there is a displacement map and that the surface has enough polys and render SubD levels applied to it.

I reboot DS and now render fine again , must be a glitch , also it render now again my HDR displacement maps as well ( other format give me a seam) , yesterday it only worked. with jpeg .

It was fine in the viewport rendering just don't want to render in open window, the files was fine only 500KB , maybe it was just a glitch , all works fine now .

also funded the proper displacement settings for my  maps, DS need different settings for different displa maps , like from Zbrush it need Min -0.50 / Max 0.50 , from other programs like Unity Min-1.0 Max +2.0 , so it don't blow or shrink the model. Weird,  but all is fine now, thanks Simon

I'll look forward to that. In the meantime, I just had to buy Buddy 2.0 and the M5 update for him. I still use 3DL and a lot of M4 and Genesis stuff. And I will probably port him to Gen2 and see what he looks like wearing Darkon :)

Hello beautiful people, just finished scanning woods for tiled and plank shaders versions, now I know why it took me so long to do that.. pain with tilling !

Now working on the main PBR shader maps ,  including dust, wattering, varning and wood imperfections and all kind of smart layers as usual in my original style , also floor wood shaders with wood patterns  laugh

it is going to be a lot of variation for the already advanced creative  DS users that like to have unique creation, more fun and as usual you can save your favorite mix shader you created for future use as a copy and paste one material to another don't works as shader values are not standard and will not copy correctly , so saving the new mix is the best option to reuse .

here some little preview tests , still working on the surfaces will show. you more as I progress. This pack will be exclusive for MEC4D's store at DAZ

P.S the surface on the floor plane is water damage/leaks wet floor smart layer

    Cath

wonderful!  i've been hoping for wood shaders from you for years!

these look wonderful.  :)  so worth the wait.

Testing base tiled wood shaders ( just finished tiled shader maps 350 in total for 50 species ) in different environments to see if they change and match the light with proper blending

now time for  floors and planks so another 700 maps to make , each around 2000-2700 pixels

Made some mistakes on the floor tiling  but just tests and work in progress of the surfaces and light bounce , the last one is one of the smart layer ( heavy dust) that can be added to any surface ( the best part )

just 900 iterations quick tests as I move forward

I like the dust! What does it looks like on e.g. furniture?

  • SimonJMSimonJM Posts: 5,997

    They look really great!

  • MEC4DMEC4D Posts: 5,249

That what it is for, you can adjust the displacement level of the dust to have it nice and fine , it will be up to you , I will have different kind of dusts in the collection .

I finished for today (12h) lol , but tomorrow  I will upload some renders with furniture and special effects, like dust, water stain , damage and other cool stuff , so stay tuned !

these look fantastic! the dust is very unique.  If only I could learn some of your technique from you, that would be amazing!

Dust - that is great - now I will get dust that will vanish with a mouseclick. Yay!

    LOL

You can adjust the level you wish , here some raw example , as I did not finished yet the fine dusts , works in progress as there will be a lot of smart layers that can be added to the wood surfaces

so as promissed some raw example , and some funky one , just for fun

Thanks, once I finish everything I will have more time to explain things as that is not difficult to do once you know where to start , but that after the job

Wouldn't it be great in real life?  just with one click....well my roomba do the job for me at last on the floors , so handy more time for other stuff .

I remember a long time ago people didn't like renders with imperfections as they had enough of it in real life , now it is reversed, everyone is tired of sterile environments in 3D.

I especially like the Dirty example, we don't live in show houses.

  • MEC4DMEC4D Posts: 5,249

Your imagination will be your limit, I am sure you guys will do some cool renders with all the options , I am not even into the promos yet , as I work in my preview test scene  , the light will play a big role on the final effect since that are PBR surfaces as in real life , once the sun shine on your floors you see everything

I especially like the Dirty example, we don't live in show houses.
