M4 Skins Batch Converter to Genesis 2 Male(s)

Hi, I'd like to know if anyone has tried the batch converter from  Michael 4 to Gen 2 males and Victoria 4 to Gen 2 females.

I'm interested in  trying some V4 and M4 textures on my Genesis 2 characters but I don't know if this tool will help.

If  you haven't tried it, which strategy can you recommend?

Thanks

  • The Genesis 2 people need a skin material file to be in DUF format and many of the M4/V4 skins are in Poser's pz3 format. So, if you have a lot of M4/V4 character sets in pz3 format this helps converting them to DUF format and also retaining where the material is assigned... like a full body mat, make-up, eyes, etc.

I just converted a bunch of V4 skins the other day and it saved a lot of work I would've had to do to convert them all manually.

The Genesis 2 people can use the M4/V4 UV maps with these addons..

Window > Panes > Batch converter. Add the files you want to convert, and use the first radio box, the one labeled Convert DS[A] to DSB and DSB to DSA.

For the thumbnails, for example texture.dsb.png, rename that to texture.png.

    For example:
    texture01.dsb.png > texture01.png
    texture02.dsb.png > texture02.png
    so on and so forth.

Once both of those are done, run the texture converter on the new DSA's and it should pick up the png's.

Not all DSA's can be converted, either. Depends whether they're scripts or material presets.

    Ok, I'll try that way.

    Thanks a lot.
