it might in capability mode if it doesn't run native, but as the "until now" last holdout of DS 3 you will not be taking any advantage of that new computer running software that old. I gave myself a week with DS4 because I had no other choice to use Reality 2 and after hating it for a better portion of that time I finally began to see DS3 was holding me back. If you upgrade you don't have to change any of your existing content and it won't be encrypted if that's the worry.
I'm a big fan of Win 7 but Win 10 is not a worthy successor IMHO.
I have loaded all PCs with Windows 10. I have an old copy of DS3 which I had not used for a few years. I used it just now and loaded a scene and had no problems. So I would say yes works OK.
I just tried running DS3 after upgrading to Windows 10. It does not work for me -- freezes up and won't respond. Running with compatibility settings for both Windows 7 and 8 failed to solve the problem. This really frustrates me as I've tried DS4 several times and just don't like it. I may have no choice now. God, I hate computers.
I ended up giving up on DAZ. Windows 10 wont run Daz 3.1, and After 2 weeks of trying to figure out 4.9 I said bother it, stashed all my content on an externat drive and havent done or touched anything DAZ since the begining week of March. I miss it, but I'm not going to waist my time on something that I feel went backwards and ruined DAZ.
Someone please close this thread for me.
