usually it means that the files are not in the default locations.  Like if you customized your folder.

    I don`t think so.

I also have multiple of this icons in DAZ Studio 4.9 and I don`t customized my folders.

When I switch from such an icon to the product, this icon is shown in the "All" Tab but when I check the sub tabs it is not shown (see the example pictures).

There are also tons of folders in the "lost and found" category (even V6 and newly installed Genesis 3 Products) but when I check them, most of them seems to be empty (inside smart content and content Library)... all content are installed via DIM or DAZ Connect.

I agree with R25S. I get this on a handful of items and I have only used DIM and Connect everything and I haven't customized. I think I read that the item and the icon might not be named the same. I've been meaning to check that out.

  • Yes R25S this very same thing is going on with mine

The exclamation mark in the middle of the frame indicates that the thumbnail image is missing; the exclamation mark at lower left indicates that the actual library file is missing (or at least, is not where the CMS has been told it should be). Usually this means that the path is not right - it's outside the list of content directories or it is in a folder that si part of a nested content directory (both a folder and a sub-folder set as content directories). If you have switched from Beta to release or vice versa check that the content dierctory settings match. If your libraries are on an external or network frive make sure the letter assigned hasn't changed. It could also mean that the path is correct but the files were moved or deleted somehow.

...but how could I find out what file it should be?

When I look for information about the missing file it dosn`t show me a name or a path/location where it should be (see picture). It also looks like every needed file is their, because DAZ Studio never give me an error message that a file is missing while I load content from Products that has icon with an exclamation mark on the lower left.

Even when I select Figure or Material or whatever inside the smart content it dosn`t apper... it only appears when I select All in the smart content.

I want to check mine out, but I had a devil of a time finding them...when I wanted it. I finally stumbled across one group. When I put my mouse over one of them, my figure started jumping around. I didn't know what was happening at first, but then I realized that these icons were for animations. I right clicked on one and browsed to the file location. There were two files for each item in the folder. But there were no icons for any of them. Guess that explains why I get the !

If you open the bottom section of the pane you will see several tabs, including Info which lists the filename. Click the dark bar in the middle of the frame, just to the left of the arrow in the Lesson picker bar, to expand that section of the pane.

    Try re-importing the meta-data.

All the ones that I have found which have the exclamation in the center really don't have an icon.

I know I saw an option to re-import the meta-data, but I'm not seeing this. I thought it was available when you right clicked on an icon.

But maybe this isn't available when the item was installed through the DIM? Many of my products were installed through the DIM. Most new items have been installed through Connect

I had been tempted to re-stall everything through connect, but I don't think everything works when you do that...like older scripts that rely on the former file locations. Plus I have found a number of items that should be available through connect but don't come up when I search for the product in the store.

Well I uninstalled and reinstalled all of my content and some products (GoFigure mostly) aren't installed very nicely and this should be fixed as that GoFigure content wasn't cheap and was very nicely looped.
