Help with image gallery problem

I am trying to upload a pic to the gallery and i keep getting a 413 error...server respond entity too large. The image in question is 1920 X 3107 and its 2.75 mb in size which is well under what max file size is for the gallery. As far as dimensions go its small in comparison to some that are well beyond that so i have no idea why its throwing that error. If anyone savy can help me would be appreciated.

    I think the limit is 2 MB...

    ok Mjc i will try to get it under ...i thought the limit was 3 mb but i guess i was wrong.
