Headlamp Issue

deleted userdeleted user Posts: 1,204

I'm having this issue where in the preview scene, iray renders the way I want. Everything looks good. Bit when I go to render the scene. The headlamp does not render at the same luminosity as the preveiw window. There has been times, where I had to turn the headlamp all the way to 10 to match my pewveiw window. I was wondering if thats normal or not or if I accidentally bumped a setting and didn't notice.

It doesn't really match up, no.  The Headlamp is basically just meant for keeping the preview lit.  you can turn it off and hit CTRL L to keep the scene from going black while you add photometric or mesh lights or turn up your HDR.

This may seem weird but is it possible to have two headlamps? I had an idea.

Or better yet. Does anyone know the propperties of the headlamp so I can recreate its effects in another part of the room.

Just use a photometric spotlight. Change the parameters for the effect you want.

Turn the headlamp off; imo, always make sure it's off.

There's a Headlamp on every camera in your scene. This is separate from the Preview light (which doesn't render) that you turn on and off using <ctrl>-L.

As for the Headlamp properties, remember it's a camera function, not an actual light; look at the parameters for your camera.

But sometimes the headlamp light is the lighting type I'm looking for. Thats why I wanted to know how to get two of them.
