Help Please! Dirty Clothes

PatroklosPatroklos Posts: 533

I have been working on a scene for days.

Suddenly all clothes in the scene appear dirty, no matter what light used, what angle the shot, what colour shader.

I have tried just about everything, then when I changed Instancing Optimisation from Memory to Speed, the marks showed up, then faded out.

If I switch back to Memory, the marks do not fade.

Each time Iray refreshes in the viewport the marks appear & then fade.

Shutting Daz down and restarting makes no difference.

I have attached a copy of a quick render to show the marks.

That's probably a sampling issue causing some kind of Moire fringing - it fades as you wait becauses more iterations fill in the missing transitions. It's very common to get odd effects like that when previewing or in the early stages of a progressive render of a fine pattern. As long as the final render is OK that's really all that matters.

Thank you, however the render pictured here was a completed render at around 99% set to memory.

Does what you have said still hold good in this case?

Well, that is odd. Make sure there is only one copy of each item, if you have two loaded in the same place and pose they may interfere.
