Import OBJ into DS problem

ChobornChoborn Posts: 1

Hello all,

I'm trying to export models from 3dsmax to Daz. After Exporting to FBX,DAE format I found that DS is only compatible well with Obj format. So I exported the model to obj and imported it into Daz.

But after that I found the coordinate of the object has changed into DS world coordinate instead of its local coordinate. The orginal 3dsmax coordinate has been lost and therefore the imported model could not align its orientation with other object well,  how to preserve its orginal coordinate, sorry if it's some kind of silly question.

Thanks in advance

As far as I know the item would need to be modelled to align with the world axes, though you can adjust the centre and end points with the Joint Editor tool in DAZ Studio.

Actually, I have tried with the Joint Editor. But the problem is if there are alarge number of objects in scene (such as Vray Proxy) They can not be adjusted manually, could not get accurate results. Whatever thanks a lot, Hope somebody can tell me

What import options did you use?

Take note that there are axis options in the obj importer...and some of the presets are not exactly current.

Yeah, I have tried using the option, only can flip axis orientation. I also search for answer on google, seems like it's the limits of Obj format
