Studio 4.9 Categorization issues

I've gone ahead and updated my D|S from 4.8 to 4.9, and manually installed extra content after the fact. Here's the problem; scanning the known directories for more files doesn't seem to be updating the database. I can see that the files are installed correctly if I change search parameters from database to filesystem, but there's enough content that it's going to cause a pretty major slowdown in the workflow.

What I've done so far in troubleshooting is: kill all database files, start over from scratch, import user data from before the update. All files that were categorized prior to the install of 4.9 appear. Anything new does not. Reinstalled the Studio completely, again, same results as simply killing the database files.

In addition, manually categorizing files that appear in the file-based search still do not turn up results in a database search for those same files. I can completely restructure/reorganize my content library if absolutely necessary, but it still isn't entirely sorted from the last reset (which happened between 4.0 and 4.5).

My installation is completely offline, all products installed manually (as much is legacy, before DIM was introduced, as well as downloaded from sharecg and the like).

Basically, I've gone through every possible solution suggested thus far. Any input would be welcome.

What version of 4.9 (latest is 4.9.1.30)?

The new content that isn't showing up is, I assume, non-Daz content without metadata?  DS-format or Poser-format?

  • It is 4.9.1.30, yes.

The newly installed content is DS format with no metadata, which had no issues importing previously.

How did you remove the old database?

  • Removing the old database: Stopped the CMS service manually, with D|S closed, removed database entries from C:\ProgramData\DAZ 3D\Content Management Service\databases, restarted CMS.

After reinstall, since I had to doublecheck the path for this, the databases folder no longer exists under that path.

That's the old Valentina database, which 4.9 doesn't use.  Try using Content DB Maintenance > Reset Database

  • No change, unfortunately. Rescan prior to reimporting user exported metadata didn't help, either. It's getting stuck with the last database set from 4.8.
