transfer DS database from old windows disk to new windows install

Does anybody recall (or can you point me at old threads) for how to transfer the DAZ Studio database from an intact old windows disk (installed as a second non-bootable drive) onto a fresh windows and DS installation on the main disk? PostgreSQL, manual install so no DIM files to worry about.
My motherboard died I think, I'll probably end up reinstalling windows when I get replacement parts. I haven't checked yet but I assume the disk is fine, I'm going to yank it out and back up a few things on another PC. I have a full backup from last month so no big deal but of course I've just installed and categorized a zillion products since then so it would be nice to recover the database rather than using the backup to avoid duplicating that work if possible.

Unless you changed the Cluster Directory the database is in C:\Users\YOU\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\cms\Content Cluster. You should, I think, be able to restore it by copying across everything from that folder except the postgresql.conf file, though I've not tried that - make a back-up of the current folder before you try it.
Ok ...so you have Daz on an unbootable drive, that you are going to install as a second drive, with a new drive with a reinstalled windows? I'm going to presume when you installed daz originally you let it install into it's default location, and that you are running windows 7 or higher. I just moved my entire setup to a new computer from my laptop, so now I run 2 identical installations.
Daz default installs into /users/yourname/documents. So do a clean install of Daz onto the new drive, and copy all of the daz libraries to the new one (users/yourname/documents/daz 3d.
If you have a runtime directory, copy it to the same place it was. For example, i have c:\programs 86\curious labs\poser\runtime. So, create a directoy in the exact place it was on your old disk onto the new disk.
If you use install manager, that defaults to users\public\public documents\daz 3d. This was one of the most helpful things for me, as I have like 1500 files in that. So, instal download manager, the copy your download folder to it. Then you open installation manager, uninstall everything except daz3d and genesis, and reinstall it.
Now, despite the fact that the directories have copied exactly, you may on occasion have to reinstall certain files if you can for example see them in your content but they don't work, so I hope you saved all of your installers.
As an aside, my new computer has a 980 gig ssd (225 at Bestbuy), at it makes a huge difference in loading files and running the program. It's like night and day.
Good luck!
Ok thanks, I'll give this a try when the new parts arrive.
Didn't get a chance to test this, in the end I simply installed the new motherboard and (after getting one or two things sorted out) it simply worked normally and didn't require any recovery steps beyond doing one more normal database export and backup. Somehow I thought it was going to be a lot more painful than that. Still testing the changed system though, and I forgot I still had an old IDE drive in there (the new motherboard doesn't have any IDE controllers, and an old IDE controller card I have doesn't appear to work with this hardware or version of Windows or something, so I needed to buy another drive and will still be shuffling stuff around yet.)
