My teen fantasy was Brian Connolly from the Sweet and his hairdo would suit both male and female

the new vega hair minus ponytail comes close but unless he has male pattern baldness not right.

I did convert it nicely to G2M but cannot do much about the ponytail and back length.

This is a hair I have been seeking in 3D for years and years and regardless of what figure I would convert it to fit all my DAZ men.

Please somebody consider making one in transmapped hair

(I have myself done LAMH and Carrara versions but they are not terribly practical)

I am after the way it curls around framing the face and not seen that in any hairs, most curl outwards if not straight like that one.

It may not be the exact look that you are looking for but you can achieve some curl in Fashion Hair by adjusting the shaping morphs.

Also look at an artist named Ali -- not in the daz store, so I can't link, but hr-160 is the name of one of Ali's hair models that might has face-framing fringe and sidelocks.  

Slosh's UHT sets are great for kitbashing multiple hair models together so you can put a long back on one of the shorter hairs and blend it all togwther - http://www.daz3d.com/uht2-ultimate-color

The Vida hair certainly has the bottom curl so could be kitbashed with another or used in several lavers, I actually thought I had bought that but I hadn't hence not finding it.

I do swap out diffuses already if mapped so I can.

if not I take it into GIMP ....

Well, as far as a pageboy style for men goes, the closest to that here is the Aaron Hair for G3M, which resembles the style worn by Anton Chigurh in the movie No Country for Old Men.
