101 non-obvious features we should know how to use

I need to compile knowledge about DS 4.8 features before it fades away.

So, what are the top features for which you feel I should gather notes, tutorials, forum thread discussions, and so on?  The kinds of things that aren't easily figured out by randomly pushing buttons, things that one might hypothetically have used an instruction manual for if the forums were not able to explain them.

I think they have done a good job shaping up the manual pages http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/start

And wouldn't it be much better to keep this stuff there or in one of the pinned topics, if you see things missing and you have tutorials or documents add in the tutorial or FAQ topics (or post it to DAZ/Richard so it can be added).

Does anybody know of a way to download and save the available online manual pages, short of manually visiting and downloading the PDF off of every single linked-to page?

But this is the problem the software needs a online manual that everyone can consult for all questions. I hate trying to beg questions of people in forums who may or may not answer all my questions. I want to read the manual. The only people who can write that manual are the ones who write the software not people pusing buttons to see what works. Maybe before Daz create a new version of studio they should get them to write a manual that one of the lead programmers keeps updated so we can figure out what is what. Good programming is ridddled with comments so you can know what does what >so you can fix problems with the code. Great programs are the ones with complete documentation as well. ~Just my 2 cents

Pressing CTRL+Double-Click on a pose file opens a pose-load settings window allowing you to disable translations/rotation, apply to selected bones only and/or children, and other options.
CTRL+Shift+Click allows you to load a pose file with settings saved from the CTRL+Click dialog.
Using this, you can mix poses by selecting different areas of the character to load each pose.

Pressing F3 brings up a Customization window for Daz.
Under Actions/Inverse Kinematics, I added the following to make the Universal/Translation tools behave  more conveniently like the ActivePose tool (when it works, see below).

    • Unpin Selected:  Ctrl+Space
    • Unpin All:  Ctrl+Alt+Space
    • Pin Rot/Tran:  Shift+Space
    • Pin Translation:  Ctrl+Shift+Space

Note: Currently, ActivePose tool is broken when using Genesis 3 models, so in order to know how it's suppose to work, try previous Genesis versions or another figure entirely.
