Rookie question...
DAZ3D
I have an object, a book. It is made up of prim0 and prim1.
Is it possible to combine/link these into a singe object?

Combine in what way?
If you just want them to move together, you can parent prim1 to prim0 (just drag it's node in the scene pane.)
I am a complete rookie at some of this.
Yes, moving them together. I am hopeful that it will all export together as a DAE model.
But I am ashamed to admit I don't know how to do that, " parent prim1 to prim0 (just drag it's node in the scene pane.)"
AHA!! I found it.
Thank you very much :)
I don't know how it will affect export, so this may not actually help, you'll have to try and see. The objects are definitely not welded into one object or anything like that though.
However, to parent one object to the other: Open the scene pane. You should find your two objects listed in there. Click on one of them to select it (it will be highlighted), then click and drag that selected bit of text over the top of the text that represents your 2nd item. It will move it within the scene pane to be nested below the other object. Then when you select the highest level object (for example to move it, or use texture atlas on it, or whatever) you are actually working with the selected node and all it's children (ie, both nodes, not just one of them.)
You can also select each of the two and create a new group if that makes more logical sense than having one parented to the other. (I don't have DS in front of me at the moment, but it's somewhere in the menu, maybe edit > create new group or something like that.)
VERY cool! Figured out making the parts into a group. MUCH easier to move about and position
Thank you again, VERY much!
One key thing, after making them object into a group, is to make sure to select the 'group' from the scene pane before doing any editing on it.
As to the exporting, I'll let you know.
