Model Age Range

Why are all female models ages exclusively confinded to the eighteen to around twenty eight age range? Try looking for a female who appears in her thirties or  forties and you have just about had it. I'm tired of seeing sweet  doll faced models  for sale on Daz and just ask you to open your eyes, look around create real women. I know I'm speaking for many other frustrated buyers of Daz 3d content.

  • I have said it before; it's all in how you choose to see them. I don't see them as all in a very narrow age range for the simple reason that real people today don't always look their actual age.

LMAO, you sound like you expect that when a woman turns 30 she turns magically into a hideous old hag. Woman do have less skin variation then men due to the way that hormones work but I do sort of agree that even that variation is under-represented. It was in men before Ivan & George too and still is, so patience I guess is in order. We're never going to get a medically and environmentally comprehensive representation of all the skin types out there so hope at least for more tonal variations and learn to use the layers in the LIE Baker in Surfaces for your personal project needs I suppose.

Another way to look at it morph6877,

Just like zeroing there X, Y, and Z location, there displayed Age, Shape, ect ect is at 0. you have the ability to make them older, younger, Taller, Shorter, darker, lighter ect ect.

so what you are asking for is Limited choices, letting someone else choose for you the way your charactor looks.

check out Zev0's products, you can make your toon's age look 4 to 104  http://www.daz3d.com/zev0

    Plus aging modifier

There ARE a lot in the 20s, and yeah, that can be annoying. But there's a lot of options if you go looking.

I didn't mean it to sound as though a woman suddenly looks old when she turns into her 30's to 40's becuase they don't.. I'm really looking for a mature woman with an older texture who still looks elegant and attractive. without being "old". I agree you can alter the shaping to make her look older but for me it's about a more mature texture. I still say there are too many older teens to mid twenties looking female models with very young faces designed no doubt to attract men who have fantasies in that direction. I'm looking for a woman of the world female rather than a sweet doll.

    Too many, agreed.

Two tips: some of the textures show more details and variations than others. Realistic vs. glamor smooth even skin tones.

Combining the more realistic textures with Zev0's Aging morphs can really hit that 30-40 age range; just add some laugh lines and a little bit of the various HD morphs and you can get a very compelling middle aged woman.

Yeah. We've a plethora of young skins to put on the models, and a handful or two of really nice old lady skins (particularly if you go back to V4 and/or check a couple of the vendors over on Rendo), but really nothing much in the middle. The HD morphs do help though.

When I made the jump from poser to Daz studio & G1 G2

the first thing I did was to convert Syyd Raven's (RDNA)"Horizon" texture from V4 to Genesis2

in fact I mostly use V4& M4 texture on my genesis figures as many of the ones made for genesis are too "airbrushed"

but I agree with those who recommended Zev0's Aging morphs  as they are a must have for those of us who have no interest in rendering an endless string of teenyboppers

Well most of the texture sets I see at DAZ aren't unblemished or particularly young but uniquely overtanned and often blemished because of that and that's the expectation of modeling industry.

They do have texture sets for old people in the store but they are over the top in my eye and won't ever look realistic because as you age you become more unique, not less unique, and your skin blemishes and discoloration patterns and wrinkle pattern will be uniquely yours. Compare how similar new born infants look to how diverse they grow up to be as old men and old women. Like Mercator Globe Projections or something those texture sets look like.

I've very much like to see DAZ Original characters that looked similar to Irene Ryan (Granny Clampett) and Jack Albertson (Grandpa Joe on Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory) but I don't expect the I'd be able to use their texture sets if they were made to look like Jack Albertson's & Irene Ryan's in their old age as generic old people textures. I'd rather have a few well placed suggestive wrinkle morphs that were suggestive enough and the blemishes & discolorations if applicable as presets of LIE layers or something like that.

I think I might be able to use George HD as a start for Granny & Grandpa. You can only get so wrinkled and then it stops.
