Anyone else having a problem getting their custom actions organized? The problem is...you can't organize them!

    My list is getting long!

    What. a. Pain!

First of all, they don't sort alphabetically. They're listed in the order they were added.  Period.

Second, it would be great to be able to group them into folders.  1) All the male figures.   2) All the female figures.   etc

Third, they're not persistent across workspaces.  If you change workspaces to a different layout, the custom actions are all gone, and you have to start over.

Fourth, They can't be deleted or modified in any way. (well, that I have been able to figure out...)

Am I missing something?  Is this already do-able somehow, or is there a script available to handle this?

Attention @mCasual :  Next project alert!!

You need to go to Window>Workspace>Customise. They will be in the Custom Actions group on the left even after you switch workspaces (possibly mutliple times if yiou keep creating them anew, but I'm not sure about that) and you can use the menus tab on the right to create new menus and sub-menus into which to drag the actions to organise them, and you can delete them from there by right-click menu.

Excellent!  This looks complicated, but it's exactly what I was hoping was available.

    Thanks, Richard!

It's not complicated! Actually fun and addictive!

I've been making custom action scripts for a long time, been turning them into icon buttons all over my toolbars but didn't know I could make my own menus.

Recently I found out (from Snowsultan I think) how to make custom Menus. Now I have frequently used Actor, Animation, Render Settings, etc etc menus. Fun!

IMPORTANT: do not delete the custom actions from the left panel Base Layout > Custom Actions section.  It's a storage area of every script you create. If you delete them from this section then they'll disappear from your new custom menus then you have to start again which is what happened to me haha. In fact, you don't need to manually delete the custom actions to clear the clutter from 'Scripts', because...

You only need to perform all your custom actions assignment to custom menus on the right side: menu panel

In right panel, MENUS tab, from Main Menu > Scripts, drag your created custom action scripts into your new custom menus Actors, Props, etc. No need to delete! Yay! In case of unwanted few scripts, right click to remove (as Richard mentioned).

Don't forget to F4 save layout every time or you lose your hard work!

After this you should have no clutter under Scripts, and then you can start creating new clutter with new custom actions again haha

Since I got back to using DS I've been updating my layout so frequently everyday I have a new layout lol

This super layout thing is why I'm falling in love with DS again!

Mcasual now has 2 menus! I also make fun one click buttons... smiley
