Head prop

Hi,
A friend of mine at another forum has this really cool Anime Head that can be set up as a Universal head to fit just about any figure. He created it orginally for Poser though and wanted to bring it over to DAZ Studio too but ran into some issues.
If he converts it to TriAx all his ERC's dials are lost. He's tried a few different ways of this but to no avail unless someone can help with that.
The head, since it's a parented head, really can't make any use of weight mapping so sees no real reason to convert to TriAx in the first place.
He's got over 200 morphs built into the original CR2 and found that a good many are lost when coverted to TriAx as well.
Aside from keeping it as a native CR2 and perhaps setting up native DAZ surface settings is there any hope in bringing this prop over to DAZ Studio and setting it up natively without having to load in each and every morph by hand? He's looking for a conversion that works.
Thanks!
Richard

I don't know why converting alone would zap the ERC, but in the circumstances I'd think keeping it as a CR2 would be best. If he imports the CR2 into DS, adjusts the materials, and saves as a scene that should then load the CR2 (as long as it isn't moved) - though I don't know if a store would let that past QA.
Thanks. I've passed the info on to Ken. IF there is a specific set up to keep the ERC's from become disconnected please let me know. I've suggested loading in the newly improved morphs and then exporting that as a cr2 but Ken's not convinced that will work. Should work, right?
I would think so, though it's not entirely clear what is being done.
Ken, created an Anime head that can be parented, not conformed, to any body regardless. He's created a whole mess of morphs, ERC's and other helper hidden morphs. Each time he's tried to go the "proper path" by converting it to TriAx for DAZ Studio users it's been a disaster. Each time he's tried other means to get the prop over to DAZ Studio to make it more native, ie. DUF format, ERC's break or become 'unhooked' and he can't make it work right afterwards. It's all set up for Poser and works great but in order for this to work for DAZ Studio users he needs SOMETHING that's going to work like it does in Poser. Not sure what's breaking, might be blink morphs or mouth morphs but he's about at his wits end and the DS users loose out... Keep in mind this will work on all the generations of DAZ figures as he's posted a nice combined render of Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 renders showing how versatile this can be but I believe the renders were done in Poser where the Anime head prop works perfectly. Really nice looks he's gotten from his creation. Nothing that could even remotely be achieved using any of the Aiko or Hiro head shapes.
What is he ERCing to? DS doesn't handle links between figures in the same way as Poser (historically) does. It might be better for Ken to post though I'm not sure my expertise would cope.
Thanks Richard.

Paul has kindly replied to Kens questions, and looks like he CANNOT make ERCs in DS with negative range keys, so he will have to create new channel to make the range positive, and then combine it with the Eyes Width ERC to make a composite one that can range from -1 to 1. In other words, DS allows setting the range to negative values, so long as it doesn't drive an ERC that goes negative. Now this explains a lot.
Ken was assuming DS was more advanced than Poser when it comes to ERCs, since it's a much newer program, but now it seems like he may have been wrong.
