Yes.  You are allowed to use the renders made using assets purchased at DAZ in a graphic novel for sale.  Your renders can be used more or less any way you like (there's one or two items that have additional restrictions, but they're older.)

It gets a little trickier when using some Freebies from other sites, as some of them have restrictions on commercial use.

  • Oh god you 2 make me so happy. I'd hate to think I did all that work for nothing. Shame on me for spending a bomb on a ton of content. Right now I think I'm Daz best custormers. Another thought is this I have buillt a large scene with many charators in it interacting with one another. The idea is to go in now and shoot all this action 360 vr creating a vr grapthic novel with sound and speech bubbles then edit images and maybe film clips using finale cut pro. My feeling this still comes off as a graphic novel and I have the right to produce it. I have been seeing a lot of the vr lately and it's big and getting bigger each day.

  • Yep, definitely. They even encourage it: http://www.daz3d.com/explore-shane-smith

I've got seven GNs out already, with an eighth on the way, all using DAZ models! Couldn't have produced nearly that much content in so short a space of time without DAZ.

    Good luck with your project!

The last posting on this thread was in 2016.  Since then new licensing has been introduced. Does the original statement that it is permissable to publish Graphic Novels using DAZ assets still remain valid or has this changed?  If It has, how?

    Thanks.

Unless you use items that have editorial license, you are free to use your rendered images in any form you like. That includes graphic novels.

    EULA: https://www.daz3d.com/eula#general_license

Terms of Use. Two-Dimensional Works. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, User may (i) access, use, copy and modify the Content in the creation and presentation of two-dimensional animations and renderings, (ii) incorporate two-dimensional images (including two-dimensional images that simulate motion of three-dimensional objects) derived by User from the Content in User's other works, and (iii) publish, market, distribute, transfer, sell or sublicense User's two-dimensional animations, renderings and other works; provided that User may not in any case publish, market, distribute, transfer, sell or sublicense any renderings, animations, software applications, data or any other product from which any Content, or any part thereof, or any substantially similar version of the Content can be separately exported, extracted or de-compiled into any re-distributable form or format.

Good point. The EULA does change over time. I was fortunate enough to buy a license to use Daz Originals (existing and future releases) for gaming etc. That broad license no longer exists for new comers or those who never foresaw to buy it. My point is if you want a license, buy it. Artists like the rest of us humans, leave or die and their stores go poof. But what you buy is secure under the terms at the time you buy it. If you really really love a PA product and can imagine it in a game, buy the additional license. Now, I buy PA licenses for products I want to unleash, no holes barred.
