"Dynamic Wiring."

Idle thought that popped into mind this morning.

We have (still, though I don't think I've seen anything that uses it for a while) dynamic cloth and clothing that drapes itself. How about wiring/hoses/chains?

Pin, parent or otherwise attach one or both ends and just have the rest "fall" naturally without stretching or deforming, for things like microphones (for those non-wireless types) and musical instruments, pretty much anything plugged in, chained up equipment or captured creatures... all those little things that have wires, cords, etc. hung off of them.

No idea how hard this would be to do, of course. And I don't recall seeing anything similar. But it might be one of those "little things" that could be useful (as opposed to spending time "posing" wire/rope/etc. segments.)

I would love something like this...small details like wiring / chains would make rendered scenes feel more lived in and less artificial. And adding physics would be a huge, huge plus

Some day I want to learn to script in daz so I can create one that counts the number of bones in a chain/hose/wire type item, calculates the distance to the floor and proceeds to droop the item in the center. (the actual idea for the script is much more complicated than that, but I've a loooooong ways to go before I can even think about starting it)

This would be a very handy product.

And rifle slings. Who shoots a rifle without a sling? I can't see my characters carrying one around in their hands all day!

I've used ammo belts they are so simple they really don't need them. It's good for other things though.
