Firefox can be quite slow when it comes to certain features of this addon. If it's not against your views, Chrome might be a solution that is a lot faster.

But it always worked so great before! sad
My wishlist has almost 400 items. Do you think that is the problem?
Changing to Chrome seems such a poor solution...

I'm not a Firefox user myself, so I can't say where it starts slowing down. I know from experience that Chrome has no issues with 1000+ items in the wishlist (yeah... :D). If you want to stick to Firefox, then you could try disabling features (of the addon) one by one to see which causes the slowdown for you.

Thank you. I'll try something like that.

    Hi,

Is anyone else having this problem (see attachment).
Everything used to work fine before and for a couple of weeks now I have to 'stop' the extension or I get stuck in this screen.
It says it's "Calculating". Any idea what that means?

I have that problem in Firefox as well on one computer, not on the other (which is a much less powerful machine). Number of items doesn't seem to make a difference. It happens whether I have 20 or 200 items wishlisted on the big machine, and not at all on the small one.

Please note that some features of the addon or the notifications may not immediately work after tomorrow's change of the store engine. If you encounter any blocking problems, then please disable the addon until we push out an update. We don't yet know what will need changing—if anything. So please bear with us after the changeover. Keep watching this thread for any updates. Thank you.

Wait, did you just confirm what no one's been saying out loud?

Well, I've already confirmed that checking by percentage off isn't working anymore.

It looks like most of our added features are not working anymore. :(

Most of our notifications are also offline. Looks like the new sale notification may work, but not anything else.

Since the store itself is acting very strangely for me right now, I'll wait until everything works before I even begin to fully assess what needs changing to get things back into working order.

Thank you for the status update. I sure wouldn't base any changes on the current chaos! I think you are right to let is settle a bit first.

  • Good idea it's not worth fixing something just to have to redo it because things not under your control aren't working right

    Thank you @Ati.

Looks like you may have some long days/nights ahead of you

Both @Overdrawn and me, yeah. :D

On the plus side, we were expecting this change, so once things settle, and the store itself works, we'll get to work.

  • Super!  Thanks, Ati, for taking care of all this.  I LOVE your add-on! Oh - I don't know if anybody has said anything, but I upgraded Firefox on Android on my Galaxy S10e and Firefox refused to load it and said it was unsupported.  That was last week before the store upgrade. Is there an Android plug-in for Chrome?

@Overdrawn had success with the Kiwi Browser, which can install addons from the Chrome store directly, enabling you to keep using the addon on Android.

A quick update: I got most of the features to work on my end. It wasn't too bad, the code only needed slight changes. We're not pushing out an update just yet, because the store is still not in its final state, and it might still change.

For price notifications to be back up, the prices need to be correct so I can match up the data sources with the actual prices. This won't need an update to the addon, this will just change in our back-end, and will be up and running as soon as I can confirm we're getting the correct prices.

Total money spent is a small feature, currently unusable. Might have to be removed.

Multiple wishlists (categories), product labels. This is a big one. With the removal of wishlist comments, there is currently no way for you to label the products. We were already working on making this feature a lot better, so it's actually on the table right now. This needs some rethinking, but should be back a bit later, too.

Price history: currently it's not updating as I don't know what the prices should be. And it's showing the non-pc graph even for PC+ members because that's the data it senses. Daz is currently working on this, so this will be fixed after the store is showing the correct prices. Whether it needs a patch in the addon itself, or can be fixed entirely on our servers, we'll have to wait and see.

Hey thanks for your hard work - I really miss that add-on (well, maybe not so much today when everything in the store is wrong anyway, so I'm not about to risk a purchase!)

thanks..this is the best DAZ store feature going. Hopefully it can be continued without too much hair pulling from you.
Thanks for all your work on this app.

Couldn't decide on ONE specific - here are my two top features
    (1) Categories (why in God's name couldn't they have left comments alone??)
    (2) Forum references to products

You didn't ask *me* specifically, but I'll answer anyway :)

My favourite feature is the 'show only wishlisted' filter. Soooooooo very helpful when checking sales.

Second favourite is the 'show only owned' filter. I own a lot of stuff and I love browsing through it 'by vendor' with the 'show only owned' filter on.

So thanks for creating this add-on (and keeping it up to date!)

Edit: As others have mentioned... the links to forum and gallery are also extremely helpful!

As much as I like the wishlist comments, the winner is Sort by percentage off

This below for me as well.  It helped me resist buying anything all month  smiley  It's amazing how little you can spend when you're not in the PC club, after being in the PC Club for so long!  Everyting is so darned expensive, and you realize you were just buying cause of the good deals, not because you really needed it.  surprise  Then again, the release of Genshin Impact may have had someting to do with it...

It's hard for me to crown a "favorite," so here are the ones that I rely on the most and am absolutely lost without now, in something approaching a particular order:

    • Gallery images and Forum posts, I check these 100% of the time. Sometimes promo images are just bad or are all done in the same style, and I like being able to see how a product actually looks in a variety of contexts + lighting. Also if anyone has used old, sometimes very old, products successfully in Iray recently and made them look good. This frequently influences whether something stays in my cart when I'm culling, makes it to the wishlist, etc.

The Forum links are awesome for seeing if there are known but unresolved problems. Also indispensible as a frequent buyer of male clothing, because they'll take me right to any entries people have made about outfits in the threads about needing better male clothes.

    • Price history to see how low things may go and estimate how long I may have to wait for a lower price, which lets me decide how much I'm willing to spend to get it sooner and set notifications accordingly. Also good for guessing if things have made it into BYOB in the past year ($1.99 for a few days = usually yes, $1.99 for one day and $2.99 a few days later = PFAD, etc.).

    • "Only Show Wishlisted" makes it easy to focus on things that I know I want, I can browse later but this way I don't miss things that I would be really mad about.

    • Sort by % Off for being able to stack the discounts and find the deepest bargains in sale categories.

I remember when the extension servers were down for a few hours. I'd forgotten how unpleasant and uncertain shopping was before and I'm so grateful to you guys for making and maintaining the service through all the changes and site chaos. heart

  • Thanks, all! It's great to see what folks like most. :) Happy to hear from everyone who's up for sharing their favorite Daz-Deals features. It's helpful to know what to fix first. ;)

Definitely price history and show only wishlisted - use them all the time.

I really appreciate the add-on though I'm fairly new to it's use - thank you for providing it and for your continued support smiley

I am slowly turning on the notifications again. Because of the price fluctuation during the store change, you will most likely get one or two extra notifications, especially about wishlisted PC+ items. Please bear with us as everything settles down.

PC+ prices still keep changing way too often. I enabled most of the notifications, except for the best prices. That kept sending emails every couple of minutes. I'll wait with that till the prices calm down some more. That notification is turned off for the time being.
