Why is IRay not using my GPU?

edited August 2016 in Daz Studio Discussion

Yesterday I installed an nVidia gtx 1070, and it comes screaming with 8G of ram.  I figured DS 4.9 could use the card to render way faster then my CPU, but when I uncheck CPU on the Advanced tab, I get no render at all.

What am I doing wrong?  I love the picture it produces but it took 12 minutes for 1 character, no lights and no background.

Any help would be great.

Edit: 3Delight doesn't seem to use it either.

  • AFAIK, IRay, for now, does not support new 10XX GPUs. Its planed in the future.

    Thanks.

Shame, it should see it.  It's named next to the checkmark.

    3Delight is CPU only.

10 series card support is expected in September or later; no definitive answer really.
